Belt tension would normally be adjusted at the rear wheel the same as a chain, if it is within spec though I would suggest you check the alignment as the belt may be pushing against the lip of the sprocket.

Motorcycle will not start, even with a "good"

I would check all the fuses first. If all the fuses check good then I would check the ignition to make sure it's getting power and is able to flow power through the switch out. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/robert_5bac37c3cb991fdb

I have a 2003 Kawasaki

Check battery connections. If O.K., the battery needs a charge or be replaced. Napa or another part store can test it for you. Good luck!

Stater unable to turn when switch been set.

Stator that produces power - doesn't turn, the rotor turns with the cranckshaft around the stator.

Starter that turns the motor over - has a solenoid .
First check that the battery is fully charged and the cables are tight then check the fuse in the top of the solenoid, if there isn't one then check the inline fuse that goes to the solenoid. replace if bad. start it.
Second if the fuse is good , jump the solenoid with a screwdriver or two and see if the starter turns over. if it does then your solenoid is bad. replace the solenoid. start it
if it doesn't turn over, remove the starter and have it bench tested, if it is bad, replace starter.

If the starter is good then.......

Put the bike in 5th gear and try to push it and see if the motor turns over.
If it does, try to start it again with the starter. i had an old Goldwing that was sitting and the starter couldn't turn the motor over until i broke the motor free.

if you cant break the motor free, its seized.

I beleive that its either the fuse or solenoid.

Vulcan 800A (not Classic) Can you adjust the rear shock?

There is a shock company that makes progressive shocks for your bike. That is also the name of the shock, and a lot of them are adjustable eye to eye length. But they are not cheap.

Same exact problem as you,

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On the "...light click..." and no start, initially:
  • externally charge the battery;
  • install and try again and start the bike:
  • if no click, try with the clutch lever pulled in and/or the sidestand folded up;
  • if there is click but will not start, follow the big cable from the battery's + terminal;
  • it would end in the starter relay;
  • press on the start button;
  • determine if the click is coming from the starter relay;
  • short the two big cables/terminals;
  • if the starter motor spins, then faulty starter relay;
  • if not, then fault starter motor, most likely, the carbon brushes.

Postback results of checks/tests.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
