The bearings are usually pre greased and sealed,

FI stands
for Fuel Injection. The fuel system sensors have detected a problem. It could
be anything > a dirty air filter restricting airflow, a plugged
injector, an error in fuel mapping, any number of things. Serious
problems can trigger the computer to prevent the engine from starting
until the problem is fixed. You will need to take the bike to a dealer to have
them plug in a code reader. The code reader will tell you exactly what problem
has been detected. There is also a chance a sensor has gone bad and is
giving a false signal. Keep that in mind. Now determine if you want to do the
fix or have the dealer do it. Please

Go through your wiring and make sure you dont have a wire that is grounding out where it is not suppose to.. Check for Cracked or damaged wires as well..

It is possible that you may have reversed the polarity on the compressor; it may be "pulling" air instead of blowing it out. Remove the air hose from the compressor and put your thumb over the air outlet while pressing on the horn switch. If you don't feel air blowing out, reverse the positive & negative wires going into the compressor and repeat the test. The air horns should work at this time.
Note: Always install a relay on this type of horn system; the compressor puts a high amount of load on the horn switch if you don't.

Hi, if it's a newer model, you can get a free download by registering at Honda Owners. If the bike is too old, it will offer to sell you a hardcopy manual. Here is the websire to register:
https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/
Once you have registered, click the "Add a Vehicle" link. Enter the data on your bike, etc.
Once the bike data is loaded, click the "My CB900F2" link at the top right next to the bike under your "My vehicles" tab. This will go to a page that has a link to the owner's manual. See snapshots below, and thanks for using FixYa.

That would be my guess. Could also be a warped head. White smoke usually means that you are getting water (coolant) into the combustion chamber, so steam (water vapor) is coming out the exhaust.
I would pull the head, examine the gasket for signs of damage, have the head checked for cracks and flatness (no warp). If the head is damaged, repair or replace it. If there is no visible damage to the head or gasket, check the block carefully. If no damage, then put a new gasket in it and put it all back together.
I have a 1982 cb900 that makes a strange noise on
It could be your primary chain and chain guides, the chain wears and the guides harden with time and will transfer more internal engine noise through the transmission.
There is also on the primary hub/sprocket and internal rubber damper all this stuff ages with in time loosing there dampening qualities.
resulting in amplified mechanical noise.
