Since it ran fine before you "fixed" it, go back over the things you changed. Put the old spark plugs back in it. Double check all spark plug wires and ignition connections. Put the bike in a dark area and run it at night, can you see any arcing anywhere?

it could also be air filter. check your throttle cable for kinks or need to adjust .

If you want to do your own maintenance, it is advisable to buy a manual. I buy one for each bike I buy. (I have quite a collection now) it will tell you in words and gives pictures to help. It will also tell you if you need special tools to do a job. Try Haynes or Clymer.

um u may be right with starving for fuel thts wat it may seem like but it culd be your spark loosing power due to lack of power id replace ur spark plug

The carburetors have air cut valves that should minimize popping. A lot of backfiring is caused by air leaking past bad gaskets. Try replacing the copper o-ring style crush gaskets where the pipe goes into the head. If the pipes are two piece replace the gaskets where the head pipe meets the muffler ( or make some using fiberglass cloth).

The regulator /rectifier is located on the backside of the battery box, If you are looking at the battery it is on the right between the battery and the rear wheel , mounted on the actual battery box (Flat box with fins and three wire connectors)

If the bike was wrecked cheking the frame is simple, look for any paint popping off, especially around the neck where the fork attaches, if the paint is popped the frame is bent, if not the frame is good.

from what you describe it sounds like a carb mixture problem its running weak ( too lean )hence wont take fuel taking off,backires through airbox ?not exhaust etc..find a mechanic and have your carbs cleaned and balanced,

this is too much fuel going into the barrel is it carbourayed or injection buddy

The most likely cause of your problem is electrical wiring shorting out underneath your left side cover. Pull the cover and check all the wiring, especially noting the condition the potting sealant (usually silicone) that should be sealing the wires going into the connectors, Ensure that none of the wiring is exposed. Check the tightness of all connectors. Check all visible component integrity, too. That should solve your problem.

try the bad gas route first by draining the tank and replacing it with fresh fuel.

if no joy, then i would focus on gummed up carbs. remove the carbs from the bike, then remove the float bowls from the carbs and take a look. my guess if the jets are clogged and/or lots of varnish on the float and bottom of the bowl. clean it all out including all of the orfices on the jets (main & pilot) and you should be a-ok.

As you have changed the wiring from original, I would suggest a good motorcycle electrics expert.
