If it's not holding a charge I need to know when it is loosing it... By this I mean is it running and not charging or is it going dead over night ,week , month? If it is going dead when you are running the bike I would say it's not charging and need to check output of the stator. If that is good next logical place is regulator rectifier. This is a common problem. If it is going dead when setting you will have to find a short circuit, you can start by using an ampmeter and disconnecting the ground cable to put the ampmeter in the middle, start pulling fuses till amp load drops and that will be the circuit to start with.

the plug gap is 0.6 to 0.7mm the standed plug is a ngk d8ea hot plug d7ea cold plug d9ea thats what the manule says

as far as a exact amount i'm not sure, there is a oil glass on the right hand side engine cover near or on the clutch cover. there will be two lines right next to the top is full the bottom is the fill, after you drain the oil and fill, start the bike for a few sec to let the oil fill the filter after shutting the bike off let it sit before topping off this will let the oil run back to the pan so you dont over fill it. next to the fill plug on the bike for the oil there is most likely a set of numbers read something like this 2100cm 3, that is 2100 cc of oil you can get a ratio rite at any local bike shop. you can pick a service manual and get all final numbers.

HI,,the next things to check are the cdi and the stator.

if it has not been serviced,remove any fuel that is in tank,remove the tank and remove gas shut off and clean the screen,remove spark plug and do compression check on each cylinder,remove carbs and clean/rebuild(carb kit),replace the float needle valve assembly.it will be a little pricey but its worth it,sounds like fuel restriction to carbs,thats why I suggest at least fuel tank shut off screen clean,if you want to just drain carb float bowls of fuel to make sure that there is no water in them first before any disassembly try that,its possible the may be the problem.I have done carb clean with a dynajet kit with K&N filter and an aftermarket performence exhaust,carb synch,and fuel mix adjust ran like champ,but did not check fuel tank,it had water in gas tank,had to drain tank,fuel lines,fuel pump,and carbs again.ran fine after that,hope that helps or at least points you in right direction.

sounds like regultor/rectefior.....get it checked with mutimeter to see how many volts its makeing..

ur new batt probly was not charged -the alternator/regulator is failin -inspec whole electrical system for bad wires,contacts etc--things wear with age--library in 629 has many repair guides

It is the little rectangular, silver or black thing with cooling fins and wires attache to the outside of your battery holder, under the left hand side cover. I've got a blue 84 GS1150EX.

Well do a serenade then..... Check your wiring systems and related items for ignitions such as your plug cables, magnetos etc...

hi,yes the cam cover is easily removed without having to take the engine out,you may have to move a few things like the throttle cable and breather hoses and the spark plug leads(remember which one goes where),but other than that,very straight forward job...cheers

No surprize here ... it is nearly 30 years old. Check with your local Suzuki shop as to sources you may have locally.

Pleas Check your stay bushes and stay bush axel if these are loose they may not handel properly keep your tyre pressure front 22 rear 32 and check if your front tyre is of not the std speck pls change .

You should be able to aquire a service manual from a dealer but if not try ebay motors they may have one on cd for about 20 bucks.

ur bike is becoming oldschool by the second-bout time the carbs r taken down n put in solvent-rebilt kits abound in mags n online

its the carbs they need to be cleaned and refurbished it has to be fouled in some way>>>
