My ktm cut out now won't start and got no spark
have u tried a new plug ? is power gettin to coil , put plug in cap and hold against a good earth point on head and crank over and see if plug sparks , if you dont see a spark try holding the plug and crank engine and if you dont feel voltage in your hand then remove cap off ht lead and repeat and if no voltage then check kill switch , if ok then check coil wires etc !
Hard shifting
sounds like you bent a selecter fork in gearbox ! need to strip engine and check all parts inc cogs and bearings !
Ktm 625 wont idle when hot
Sounds like idle jets are still clogged, they are really small and unless you check them, a standard cleaning of the carbs may not clear them. I use a nylon bristle pulled from a scrub brush to **** out the pilot jets.
My 1999 ktm 300exc is stuck in first gear.
is the gear leaver returning to position after trying to select a gear.it could be that the shaft from the leaver is bent or the drum is stuck or return spring is broken.
When I letmy clutch outit makes a strange noise
You could have worn down all the friction material on the clutch and what you are hearing is the rivets on the clutch rubbing on the flywheel in the absence of sufficient friction material.
Will not shift into first gear
Sounds like your clutch is out of adjustment, or needs to be bled. Most of the ktm's use a Magura hydraulic clutch which can be bled using Mineral Oil. DO NOT USE BRAKE FLUID.

How do you know when to replace friction plates on a 2011 ktm 350 sxf
If you are racing, or riding really hard you may need to check the clutch each season. You can take the friction plates out and measure the thickness, and check this against KTMs recommended limits. If the raised squares on the friction plates are worn off they surely need replacing. Normal trail riding with some moderately hard riding should see the clutch last for many years without needing new plates. The plates might still be OK in 2031! Change the oil as often as recommended in the manual, or as often as you can afford! (General advice only).
