How to replace oil pump
oil pump is in bottom of engine so engine out , unless you have enough space and a plate that bolts on under side of engine to gain access to it ! ?? have a look !
Magnets broke on flywheel
it needs to be replaced you cannot fix that.. you may even be able to find a used one at a local junk yard seeing how they may be a little expensive.. let me know how you make out.. and also make sure you clean it well
I have a 1986 zx 600 ninja and its hard to start
Your problem is that your valves are not properly adjusted; had the same problem on my 1985 Ninja 600 - the colder the ambient temperature got the harder it was to start. After a valve adjustment it fired right up even in freezing temperatures very reliably.
My kawasaki gpz 600r cuts out when i try to move
It sounds like the kick stand switch is not working or working real good. Did you mess with the switch? Or did you buy it like that? Somebody messed with and did it wrong. When the kick stand is down, the bike goes in gear it shuts off, That is how it is supposed to work. Mine was wired up and you would not believe how many times I took off with the stand down and almost killed myself. I got a new bike and left the switch alone. I know they make special switches for the wires to be cut and relocated, I don't know if you can find one on ebay or not, but I would get under there and check to see if any wires are hanging down. Hope this helps.
Chain torque settings
I don' t have a torque wrench either, and I adjust my chain on the road, with a big adjustable, just tighten it up and go. Ducati S4, Hope this helps.
On my 1986 GPZ600 the rear brake siezes up when I use it.
Sounds like you need to service the caliper. Remove the piston from the caliper by pumping the brake pedal, be warned you will get brake fluid everywhere. Remove piston seals, dust and oil, you'll probably find that the grooves where they usually reside are full of 'crud' thoroughly clean the grooves, clean the seals then inspect seals for damage and replace if necessary, grease seals (high temp grease) and put back into caliper, wipe away excess grease. Inspect piston for corrosion, minor corrosion can be flatted back with 1200 grit sandpaper, if too badly corroded replace. lightly grease piston (high temp grease) and push into caliper. the piston should slide in easily by hand. Finally bleed caliper well, flush new fluid through entire system.
It does not start!
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
A couple of initial things to try / check (
if have not been done) on a bike that will not start:
- externally charge the battery and have it load tested;
- check / clean / tighten battery connectors / terminals;
- check / clean / tighten fuse & its fuse holders;
- check / clean / tighten major power connectors, wiring;
- temporarily bypass the safety interlocks before starting; or
- pull clutch lever in and/or side stand folded up when starting;
- temporarily jumper the 2 big terminals of the starter relay;
- check for presence of spark at the plug tips;
- check for the presence of fuel through the drain hose/ screws.
Postback results of above initial tests.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
