kawasaki KLR 250 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
My 2007 Kawasaki KFX50 starts and idles fine, but
Unrelated Recall Alert:
CLICK MESome articles I have read suggest removing the stock auto-choke carb and replacing it with a Honda CT70 Carb. Check with a local shop to verify, I do not own either and am just passing along the info.
Another solution suggested by 'OneRide': Try it with the gas cap off. The tank vent might be plugged. Possibly plugged fuel filter. Are you using the choke correctly?
This seems to be a very common problem and no 'one' solution to fix it.
I hope this helps.

Kawasaki klr250
Yeah,it starts. I do the same in mine. Or just use a cloth with fuel on it in the back of the carb,as i did before getting the can of spray starting fluid.Btw,if your bike doesnt want to start cold may be a carb problem(lean mixture) or choke not doing its job.
I have klr 250 timing issue, what can I do?
Hi Dave:
I just bought my first KLR yesterday and a service manual came with it.
Check the milage on yours??????
Really ony 2,200? That's barely broken in and amazing for a '94.
The hiss from the airbox would indicate a bad intake valve or at least that I would be checking compression to start trying to figure it out.
Kawasaki KLR 250 takes about 12 goes on
I have a riding mower that is similarly stubborn; try this which works for me:
- Full choke for one cycle
- No choke but full throttle for the next try; it works for me/it.
Kawasaki Bayou 220, cleaned carb. dont completely
To start with was it fine before you cleaned it? Is any gas over flowing from the carb at any time? Does it start well when cold or hot? Will it take throttle slowly but not quickly? Did you adjust your air screw? These answers will help me determine what is going on. Did you pull the float off? Did you check the choke and make sure reassembly is correct?
HOW TO BLEED FRONT BRAKE
Try gravity bleeding. Open bleed nipple and wait for steady dripping. After closing nipple, the lever doesn't have pressure, the cylinder at the lever is defective. It's a go- no go thing. Either it works or it doesn't. good luck
The ignition quit working took
Hi,
Check the starter, wire connection harness and starter solenoid.
That high amp means a power that was being drain by the solenoid or the starter motor.
Disconnect the wire terminal of the starter and connect your ignition, you will see that it will not drain power from your battery and solve your fuse popping.
Then pull down the starter, overhaul it and clean/lubricate the bushing.
If you can't do the starter a mechanic can do it for you.
Hope that helps you.
Thanks for using FixYa!
I replaced the front brake
Two ways of doing this make sure you are using the right brake fluid The bleeder on the calper open up and pull fluid with a fluid pump Get one at auto parts store dont let the master cylinder go dry OR you can fill the calaper through the bleeder and push fluid up to the master cylinder MOPOR KENNY
