Aprilia Atlantic 500. Trying to find a video or something on how to change the forks on it?

Question edited for clarity and correct spelling of 'Aprilia'. Question moved to model category. You might like to subscribe this YouTube Channel called 'Biker Stuff', a mature lady of a 'certain age' who does hands on restoration of bikes with tips on maintenance. On this video released yesterday she removes the forks on a Honda CBR400. In future videos she will show refurbishment of the forks and over time, the whole bike. You will learn a lot and she is pretty to watch and has a very interesting 'history'..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDTuG9Z2SEM&lc=UgwBwPhluvcUy7m8wgl4AaABAg Just loosen the pinch bolts and drop the fork legs out of the bottom. As for doing the upgrading yourself, it is a relatively easy task, but does require a special tool to compress the fork springs. Feb 18, 2004

2007 Aprilia rsv1000r can I replace the ignition, instrument cluster and ecu with a 2010 rsv1000r

While I can provide some general information, it's important to note that specific compatibility between different model years and components can vary. When it comes to replacing the ignition, instrument cluster, and ECU (Engine Control Unit) of a motorcycle, it's advisable to consult a professional mechanic or contact the manufacturer or authorized dealer for accurate and detailed information. In the case of replacing parts like the ignition, instrument cluster, and ECU from a 2010 Aprilia RSV1000R on a 2007 Aprilia RSV1000R, there are a few factors to consider: 1. Wiring and connectors: The wiring harnesses and connectors for the ignition, instrument cluster, and ECU may have different configurations between the two model years. This could potentially create compatibility issues during installation. 2. Communication protocols: The ECU communicates with various components of the motorcycle, including the instrument cluster, to relay information and control functions. Different model years may use different communication protocols, which could affect the compatibility between the ECU and instrument cluster. 3. Immobilizer system: Some motorcycles are equipped with immobilizer systems to prevent unauthorized starting. These systems rely on the ignition and ECU to work together. If there are differences in the immobilizer systems between the 2007 and 2010 models, it could complicate the compatibility of the ignition and ECU. Given these potential complexities, it is strongly recommended to consult with a knowledgeable mechanic or contact the manufacturer or authorized dealer to confirm compatibility and ensure a successful replacement. They will have access to detailed technical information and can provide guidance specific to your Aprilia RSV1000R models.

I have an aprilia sr 50 2005 ditech , it staRts and after running for a bit and I turn it off, it wont start up again.

Hi, Please get your battery and alternator checked. Since your car can't maintain power, one of these two items would most likely be the cause. In fact, if you had a bad alternator it could permanently damage a new battery because the alternator wouldn't charge the battery for an extended period of time. Thank you.

Aprilia SL1000. I just changed the sprag clutch bearing and reassembled everything When I tried to start it it barely turned over and the battery terminals got extremely hot fast. Please help. Thanks.

Question edited for clarity, add maker and full model details. Question moved to model category. Remove the battery terminals and the starter terminals and clean them shiny with a wire brush. Smear the contacts with Vaseline to stop oxidization and tighten the contacts. Also check the starter relay. https://www.google.com/search?q=aprilia+sl1000+falco+starter+relay ..

My aprila rs50 starts fine and runs fine cold but if it heats up abit you pull the throttle and it sounds like its dieng

Instructions
    • 1 Park your RSV 1000R on a well-ventilated, level area, using its kickstand.
    • 2 Start the engine and let it idle in place until the temperature gauge built into the instrument cluster indicates a minimum internal temperature of 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the motorcycle's ideal operating temperature.
    • 3 Take note of the engine idle speed, using the tachometer needle, while the engine is running. Ideally, the engine should idle steadily at 1,250 rpm.
    • 4 Adjust the engine idle speed to 1,250 rpm, using the idle adjuster screw hidden between the lower right edge of the fuel tank and the upper edge of the right middle fairing panel. Turn the idle adjuster screw clockwise to increase the engine idle speed, or counterclockwise to decrease the engine idle speed, using a small flat screwdriver if your RSV 1000R's frame (VIN number) precedes ZD4MEE009YS000292. A plastic knob allows the engine idle speed to adjusted by hand on RSV 1000R models with a frame (VIN) numbers starting from ZD4MEE009YS000293.
    • 5 Rev the engine two to three times and observe the tachometer. The engine should return to a 1,250 rpm idle. Adjust the engine idle speed as needed, using the method described, then rev the engine again. Problems may exist within the throttle control, fuel-injection system or engine, if the engine idle speed will not hold steady at 1,250 rpm. Contact your local Aprilia service facility for assistance.
    • 6 Stop the engine, once you have obtained a steady 1,250 rpm idle speed.

Sonic gp. Why isn't it starting?

If it came with a battery, you need to put a battery in it. The battery provides the power for the spark, the stator provides power to charge the battery. You can rewire modern scooters to suit yourself. https://www.google.com/search?q=Aprillia+Sonic+GP+Battery ..

I have a Aprillia peguso that does not want to start at all, suffient petrol and spark, what can the problem be

I need a little more information:- Has the engine been apart recently? Has the ignition timing been altered? Have you checked for compression? Have you got the correct fuel in the tank? (If the bike has been standing for some time, drain the fuel and put fresh fuel in it). Assuming you have good compression, check that the spark is occurring at the correct time before Top Dead Centre (TDC). After trying to start it, take the spark plug out and see if it is wet with fuel, or dry. this will show if fuel is getting into the cylinder. Check for blockage in the air intake and condition of the filter. Check for blocked exhaust system. Off-road bikes can get very muddy! If all these checks are fine, time to look at the carburettor. Water in the carburettor can be an issue, some carburettors have a fuel drain on the float chamber others you have to take the float bowl off. If you can, take the float bowl off, turn the fuel off first at the tank, and inspect the condition of the inside of the bowl. Clean out the bowl and blow through any air holes and jets. Check the float shuts off the fuel. Using minimum pressure lift the float up and turn the fuel back on. Fuel should flow past the float valve when you release the float slightly and shut off when the float is lifted again. If it does not shut off completely, you will need to remove the carburettor for a thorough cleaning. Hope this helps a little.

I have a Aprilia 50 Sportcity 4T 2011 that dies every mile or so, then restarts and dies again.

A clogged gas cap engine hole can cause this.

If ok, change the fuel filter(s).

A clogged filter will allow a little gas through but can keep up with demand.

OK< can you provide more details? Does it turn over? Does it fire at all? Do you know if you have a spark? Do you know if fuel is getting through? Has it run properly recently? To run, a motor needs fuel, air and spark Inspect all fuel lines and wires. Pull the sparkplug and see if it is burnt/wet/corroded

Sxv 550 wont start

do you still have the bike ?

My 2006 SXV had the same problem I think. I would turn over & over but no firing ?

Don't give up - just get it to the Rocket Centre @ Blackburn. They fixed mine desp[ite my local dealer saying it was a new engine job. Very few dealers (in the North at least) have any idea how to fix an SXV

There is a new set of starting gears available FOC from prillia which will probably fix the problem straight away. Mine needed a new stator too and valve buckets which were compounding the problem but the whole thing cost me less than £100 thanks to the free upgrade from prillia.

give it a try - you won't be disappointed if you can get it going again
