Passlock™ System

You can not by pass anything , system will not let vehicle start

IS their a certain part on ignition switch that could be faulty ????? Rather then looking to replace parts that may not fix the problem ,take an have a scan tool hooked up an have code's in the BCM - body control module .Qualified repair shop. The BCM controls the anti-theft . Not to auto zone or pep boy's or advance etc. They can not read BCM code's .

Do you know what DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's are

Where did you try to by-pass at , with the 2000 ohm resistor ? Is the SECURITY light lit on the instrument cluster ? Probably has another problem other then the key . The anti-theft system in your vehicle can not be by-passed by using a resistor .

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop . Before you render it unfixable . (cost to much )

There is no reset button.
The problem could be the anti-theft system which would knock out the injectors and spark to the plugs.
If the security light is staying on, the problem could be the chip in the key.

So does it start in any other position? If yes, then the gear shift mechanism needs to be adjusted.

Have you checked your battery and battery connections?

if it is an older model car like form 80's it is due to broken gears at back of gauges. if is it a newr model startin from 90s, this happens when speed sensor or its wiring gets broken. you need to check one by one. disconnect batetry first. then remove gauges cluster. check for connection or gears inside. if it is ok check other end. it is generally on end of transmission. it monitors the output shaft. same applies for electronic sensors.

sounds like you have a defective theft module you will have to take it to a dealer to have it repaired
