My check engine light came on and when I had it checked, the Autozone computer said I had a cooling fan shortage. My car does not heat up unless I'm sitting still.
Also, starting at the same time. My air conditioner is acting funny but only when sitting still. As long as I'm moving, the air conditioner blows cold air but when I'm sitting still, it blows hot air.
If the fuse is blowing there is too much resistance in the cooling fan moter. Replace JUST the cooling fan motor and the fuse. The A/C always turns the cooling fan ON when turned on. That is why the A/C messes up when the fan motor is bad. Replace the fan motor and the A/C problem will be fixed too. :)
Hi,they may be wrigt ,but you can replace the temperature suitch at the cilinder head ,this is the one that sends the signal to the fan relay when the engine begins to heat up and that will start the fan. good luck.......

I had a similar problem with my 04 LS Sport Coupe. The check engine light came on, took it to Advance Auto Parts and they ran it on their computer and it came up as some kind of coolant sensor. My air conditioning also has been acting funny. Never really thought there was a connection between the two tho. I may try to replace the coolant temp sensor and see what that does.
I too have the same problem, when I idle the temp goes up and the cooling quits. I checked it out today and had a 30 amp fuse blown for the cooling fan. Replaced it and it blew again in about 10 seconds. What else could be causing it to blow? The relay or sensor? Help please
