Look in your manual for fuse diagram LOOK FOR A RELAY, put a "RF" on top of the "Radiator Fan relay and find another with same part number. in the fuse compartment. ie Air Cond. put an "A C" on that one, switch them out and get engine HOT to see if fan works, turn AC on too if it works the relays are both good. next things to check [a] "Temperature switch" on block, or [b] corroded wire terminal at firewall connections [c] the fan motor could be bad ...... that Radiator fan operate TWO ways. (1) a hot engine (2) turn the AC on high will also turn it on. Check this first before U get your hands greasy.

How to change the cooling fan in my 94 subaru legacy

I would suggest getting a repair manuel from you local auto store, it will save you a lot of trouble. Also, check the fuses first, and if it is your fan, check Amazon, they have great prices on the entire fan assemply. If you buy the parts from the dealership, chances are they will just sell you the motor for three times the price and five times the hassel.

My 2003 lancer over heated and won't start now.

too late, but the answer is: when the water system loses enough water, there is a sensor in the water inlet that tells the computer that there is no water, then the computer will not allow the engine to start, I check it on a radiator change I had to make a lancer 2006, we wanted to move the car a few meters but did not start because the hoses were not installed and the block had no water, so we had to start pouring water with a garden hose to the water inlet of the block and in that way started the engine.

1994 Mits 3000gt. The radiator fan will not come

there is a heat sencing unit on the fan or radiator which cuts in and out to let the engine maintain operating temperature. If this is faulty, the fan will never go on and the car will overheat.

If you can not find this switch let me know.

My radiator fans both have stopped working

Could be a few things. If your fans were just working then just stopped, it could be the fan motor. It could also be the relay. If you know where your lo speed and high speed cooling fan relays are located, you can eliminate this step easily. Take a known working relay (rear defrost or something not essential for starting) and replace the fan relay with the known operational relay while your engine is running and A/C is turned on. If the fans start, there's your problem, if not, then it's probably your fan motors.
Make sure the fuse that protects the fan speed relays is not blown as well.

Coolig fans dont run

the cooling fans are run by a relay it's located in the junction box. check this. there is also a thermoatic sensor located near the fans next to radiator. the fans should free spin when the engine is off this is a good indiacator that it's not the fan themselves. if the relay checks out(run engine and switch the fan relay with the a/c clutch relay when the engine reaches 180 degrees you will feel the upper radiator hose get hot the fans will turn on a short time later iof they don't it's the temp sensor near the radiator if they do it's a bad relay...please rate this thanks
