My 05 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT will try to turn over but only does its every now and then. When it does start it will idle for a minute or so then die. What could be causing this?

Change the coolant temp sensor,and possibly the EGR position sensor.

Running problems

Idle air control valve or a vacuum leak, the idle air control valve controls the amount of air let into your engine when you start or while running you holding your foot on the gas lets more air in.

I was working for a company that used 1995 Caravan's for their sales force and I do not know of any sensor. I am confused by the term "cover".

This is commonly caused by a dirty throttle valve and idle speed control valve, have them cleaned.

Dodge 1996 caravan/engine starts then abruptly shuts off

I would check the iac(idle air control valve) first it controls the idle, and then if it is still acting up you may have to change the crank/cam position sensor

Stalling at lower speeds

either fuel filter stoped up , air filter, the egr valve stuck open ,or a vaccum leak

Hi, the idle air control valve is on the throttle body held in by 2 bolts. You will need to remove the air ducts to access the throttle body. See picture for the location of the valve/motor. Sometimes the valve is just dirty or the passages blocked by gunk. When taking the valve out, try to save the gasket. After taking the valve out, check the passages and the valve itself for dirt/blockage. If it's dirty, try cleaning and reinstalling before you buy a new one. Use the old gasket, if possible.
