I would have the fuel filter changed again, just in case sediment from the tank is blocking fuel through the filter, and check the fuel pump. They put them in the gas tank now and they do go bad. If you jack up the back end where the gas tank is, pehaps you will have enough gravity feed to present enough fuel to the injectors to start the car. That will tell you if the fuel pump is bad.

When tank is below 1/2 full the car is hard to start and when driving it seems to lose power. My check engine light does not come on.

the problem maybe a problem with fuel pickup at 1/2 tank, if the line has blockage, the filter is clocked up, the leveling or device that keeps track of fuel level is defective, there issue with the floater, the part that suppose to float has or full of fuel and when it gets to 1/2 tank, the floater full of fuel and sinks like your out of gas.
i think most likely clogged fuel filter in the fuel tank if your car has this type of system.
if not the fuel filter most of the time its near intake of the injectors, underneath the drivers seat under the car.
or by the inlet and outlet of the fuel tank.

My car stoped running as if it were running out of gas but i have gas in it now it will only crank but not start it is a 92 BMW 320i

Has the fuel filter ever been replaced? Instructions are here. http://www.frontiernet.net/~papi/Filter.html
This car has two gas tanks, one on either side of the spare. The fuel pump that delivers fuel to the engine is on the right-hand side. When the left tank is less than half full, it requires a transfer pump to move the rest of the fuel over to the tank with the fuel delivery pump.
Those transfer pumps sometimes fail, or can simply come loose. When that happens, the car 'runs out of gas' though it still technically is one quarter full of fuel. It cannot access the rest of its fuel. This happened on my bosses '03 325 a few months ago.
If this is the problem, you can be sure to keep it more than half full of fuel until you can get it in to get it fixed.

Truck acts like it is running out of gas? Replaced fuel filter. Ran fine for awhile but now still acts like it is starving for fuel.

my '93 f-250 (4.9L) stopped running while driving, now it acts like it isn't getting any fuel. Tried switching tanks, but still does the same. What would be the problem.

It sounds like it's gonna die when i start it, like it don't want to stay running, but it don't die. could it be bad Gas? i just changed the fuel pump 3 months ago. any help would be nice

Hello and yes this can be bad gas. This also can be something that can be fixed with a simple fuel or air filter change as well. I would do a basic tune up of spark plugs and wires which may fouled out it sounds like, oil and filter, air filter, and fuel filter. I would also change the distributor cap and rotary button. These few tune up items may help your rough running automobile. If you have any other questions email me and I hope you resolve this issue.

2000 Ford Expedition Starting problem

If the fuel gauge drops off when you are driving then its a sending unit problem that means you have to drop the tank and replace the float and sending unit. This is a common problem for alot of cars because of cheap gas. If you have to drop the tank check the fuel pump canster for dirt because of cheap gas. Replace the fuel pump strainer and fuel pump filter. If the car or truck has about 100,000 miles you might want to change the fuel pump at that time also just to cover your back. If you take it to a shop they will charge you at least $900 to start. But if you do it yourself it will cost you about $200 dollars maybe alittle more.

99 Taurus wont start unless primed. Fuel pump is working

Check/Change Fuel Filter(s), PVC Valve & Emission Hoses
and/or
Gas that sits too long won't fire easily that's why we have to add winterize to our lawn mowers!
Try filling the tank with some high grade fuel cleaner additive. This stuff is like rocket fuel (about $10).
Also add a can of dry gas as you may have a lot of water and water vapor in your system!
Get a couple more cans of starter fluid too. (I always needed at least two to get my diesel running for summer)
Keep spraying and starting (It always took me at least a full can sometimes 2)
When it starts keep the gas pedal down and rev high for a good 5-10 minutes then see if it will idle.
If it still stumbles and falls consider adding another can of fuel system cleaner and/or dry gas.
Don't drain the tank as this usually just makes it worse by letting the bottom sludge stir up.
Never let your gas tank get too low as this will foul up your fuel system and always add fuel cleaner after every oil change (a must for fuel injection and cat. converter care)

Good Luck!

Horrible Gas Mileage

i would change the fuel filter and i would take a flashlight and to make sure none of my fuel injectors are leaking and i would also put the car on ramps and put something behind the rear wheels and check all of my gas lines under the car as while.

Gas mileage drop

Ok just for starter, this vehicle may be due for a tune up, but what affects fuel economy more than a tune up are oxygen sensors(02 sensors). just in-case you don't know because you seem very knowledgeable, they are located in the exhaust system. start from the manifold and work you way down to the tail pipe, they look like spark plug with electrical wires attached to the color of wires are white, black and grey. About they fuel filter no they are not 100 dollars each, much less than that, however one is located in the gas tank and other is outside of the tank. Contact me if you need more help. Good Luck

1997 GMC K1500 4x4 5.7 ex.cab SFI injection system

I would check the fuel lines themselves and make sure there is no blockage. If not you might want to check your fuel injectors and see if they need to be replaced. also make sure you didnt install fuel filter backwards.
