I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata and the brake lights (all of them) are not working. I checked the fuse and changed the brake switch already. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance
There is a tsb for the brake switch in 06 sonatas. it must be adjusted or replaced by dealership. is your check engine light on, if so its probably code p0504
I looked at recalls and discovered that there is a recall starting in August 2009 for the brake light switch that lists all these problems as well as the ESC light coming on. The dealers are instructed to replace the brake light switch free of charge.
I had it as well and it a sensor switch box and it sends the signal from the brake pedal to the tail lights. It is under warranty

I too have a 2006 Sonata and had all 3 lamps out ~ took it to dealership and they said they were all burned out and replaced them!!! About a month later the two rear lights again burned out. I replced them with my own lamps and have not had a problem since ~ about 9 months! CHEAP Hyundai lamps
Can you guys read? The OP said that the fuses are good, the bulbs are good, and switch was replaced. How bad can Koreans fubar a simple circuit design?
There is a recall on the exterior lights 2005-2007 Sonata. brake switch. regarding burning out the bulbs, not sure.
Stop lamps do not light > 1.Bulb burned out 2.Stop lamp fuse (15A) blown 3.Stop lamp switch faulty 4.Wiring or ground faulty FUSE INSPECTION 1. Be sure there is no play in the fuse holders, and that the fuses are held securely. 2. Are the fuse capacities for each circuit correct? 3. Are there any blown fuses? If a fuse is to be replaced, be sure to use a new fuse of the same capacity. Always determine why the fuse blew first and completely eliminate the problem before installing a new fuse.

High brake light works fine. Low brake lights do not work. All bulbs work fine. I've changed fuses for tail lights and stop lights with no improvement.
I, too, have this same problem with my car. All the fuses are fine, and the bulbs are fine. The brake light in the back window works, but the read ones do not. This is crazy.

My problem is "How do you replace the High Brake light (aka 3rd brake light)?" It's not shown in the owners manual!
I just went to the dealership where I purchased my car because my brake lights are all out...they checked the fuses and the lamps--and they said they were all good. I'm taking it in, again, to see if the brake pedal sensor has malfunctioned?

I have a 2007 Sonata with the same problem. Break lights out, bulbs ok and fuses ok. High break light works.
Same things...fuses good light bulbs fresh and good...high light works...back ones dont!
Ha. Same brake light problem in my '06 Sonata GLS. Replaced both lights at last oil change, replaced again last week. Light went out again so I took it to the dealer but GUESS WHAT? The lights worked! They can't do anything for me until I bring it in when they are not working for them. Is there an obvious manufacturing malfunction that should be fixed? Please.....I do not want to go through much more of this aggravation.
I have this same problem with my 2006 Sonata. All the fuses are fine, and the bulbs are fine. The brake lights in the back window seems to work most of the time however, at times the back window does not work but the others do.
The same thing happened to me and I'm now trying to find answers to fix the problem. None of my brake lights work!
I have the same problem. I found out when the police pulled me over (boo hoo)
