How to start my 2000 Honda odyssey without a key

You can't . The ignition switch does more than just start the engine. The key code can usually be read from the diagnostic connector.

I accidently turned my ignition with my car door key and suddenly my 1999 honda odyseey went dead. I was told I blew the electrical system. If this is so, do I need to take it to a dealer or is there...

There is no way to "blow the electrical system" by turning the ignition lock. (Unles it has a serious problem)
I'm suprised it turned at all.. You may have disabled it by using wrong key, if it's got chip in key, it thought it was being stolen.

The other good possibility is that you have a loose connection on the battery, very common in cold weather, and the sudden draw for the starter caused it to break connection completely.

Check the battery connections, to be good and tight, and / or the ground wire to body. Possibly corroded but less likely. Less likely still, the main wire to starter motor.

If those are good, it's possible the actual ignition switch itself it defective.
For that, or if its disabled by security, you'll probably need the dealer.

1996 honda odyssey

We found our solution...a new ignition. :-( One day the key stuck in the ignition and refused to be removed! It cost us around $350.00 to have a new ignition installed. No way around it.
