ASD relay ! Is there B+ voltage to the coil's ? Fuel pump relay electrical circuit diagnostic's . Do you have an know how to test with a DVOM digital volt ohm meter ? You can check out wiring diagrams at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html ! The ASD - auto shut down relay power's up the fuel pump relay , ignition system an some other thing's . It's in the under hood fuse box !

Getting gas no spark. coil and power into the coil good. 1990 dodge dakota with a 3.9.

The coil, injectors, and fuel pump get power from the ASD relay. If you have power to the coil but no spark from the coil, have you checked the pickup in the distributor ?
The pickup sends a signal to the engine computer and the computer fires the coil.

1995 dodge dakota v6 will not start began to run rough spit sputter. replaced cam sensor no change .tried changing ign coil no change. checked pwr to coil at plugin no pwr used a voltage meter checked...

If you have no power to the coil with key on, it might be the crank sensor. The spit and sputter ckould be a fuel problem, but if you have no spark now, check the crank sensor.

Fuel pump relay need to be grounded

If you look at a wiring diagram for the relay, you will see that on the coil side of the relay one of the coil side terminals is indeed a terminal for a ground wire

it is the relay that supplies power to fuel pump relay coil etc.the computer controls it so if engine stalls all fuel and ign is shut down. mainly was created for safety in an accident

1997 dodge ram won't start. My fuel pump does not run and coil won't spark. Iv'e checked fuses and relays and they look fine. Could a bad fuel pump cause the asd to kill power to the coil?

First check any ignition/fuel related fuses. Check to make sure you have 12 volts coming into the pump and coil. If nothing to the fuel pump replace the fuel pump relay - if you do have power to the fuel pump then replace the pump. If nothing is coming to the coil it is either an ignition relay or a wiring issue. If you have 12 volts to the coil but no spark then replace the coil.
Also the fuel pump/relay would not kill the coil.

Truck will not fire?

several things cause the coil to work, a bad cam or crank sensor will cause it not to spark. a bad fuel pump or relay can cause a no start situation

If fuel pump relay is bad yes it will still get spark.
Sonds like you do have a fuel pump, or fuel pump relay problem, most likely the pump.

i changed my fuel pump but now when it dies i have to un plug the pump then plug it back in before it will run

Check the fuel pump ground near the pump. Sounds like the circuit may be disconnecting or a relay is staying on under the hood possible Fuel pump relay or ASD relay.
