Can be caused by anything need to have car scanned for the trouble code most auto stores such as auto zone/ advanced auto offer this service for free the code will help u determine whats wrong and help in fixing problem

Knocking nosie from left side of 06 saturn ion? hear it all the time but mainly after 2nd gear when it shifts is the worst part?

Have your motor supports checked. Also the drive shaft could be causing the problem if that knocking is not coming from inside the motor.

I have a 2006 Saturn Ion. The motor starts chugging and acting like it is going to die after driving for about 5 miles. Accelration is barely there and it is shifting hard. what is wrong?

Check engine light on,engine surges while stopped at light

could be a vacuum leak. When rpms are up, it has enough vac to operate properly. Check all vacuum hoses and make sure they are all on, and look for splits or cracks in the hoses
