It normally says CODEWAIT because wrong codes have been entered previously.

The usual solution is to LEAVE SWITCHED ON....UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself.

This can sometimes be many hours as the waiting time doubles after each wrong code. However, normally , it is only an hour or two.

1994 BMW 525 radio displays "CODE WAIT" after I put in the code numbers

You need to wait 1 hour before attempting to put the code in. Either the ignition needs to stay on 1 hour or drive it for 1 hour. If they key is turned off before then, you will need to start again.

I had the battery in my 1999 bmw 323i changed. I entered the wrong radio code, and it says"code wait" since yesterday. How do I rest this to enter the code again?

ive had the same problem on my 1998 Bmw 323i when i took my battery cable off what you have to do is leave your key in the ignition position 1 so the radio is on and says code wait. you have to leave the key in the ignition in that position for about 30- 1 hour long then it should reset back to where you enter your radio code. you only have about 3 trys to get the code right then it will say code wait again. you need to find out what your radio code is. my radio code was 46661 but we could have different radios. you can either bring your car to the dealer or just take out your radio and get the serieal number off of it which is what i did and i typed bmw radio code in online hope this helps !!

My 1995 bmw 525 that i just purchased has a locked radio. can i unlock it?serial number f31077848b

call that number in to the dealer, they have the code.

may have to wait 1.5hrs with key on ACC if you've tried and entered one wrong code.

do you have your very own BMW mechanic? If not, they won't give you the code and act real snooty to you. You can give them money for them so assign you a mechanic.

I pressed the wrong code for my radio (business cd radio)

1. You have to have the code for the radio which varies by serial # of BMW. I got this code by calling my BMW dealer here in town. They were very nice and gave it to me for free.

2. When you enter the code wrong 3 times (I think) the radio goes into "sleep mode" for 2 or 3 hours of operation. In this sleep mode the radio will not let you enter the code from 1 above.

3. After waiting just enter the code and all will be well.

I have the five digit code for my 1992 BMW 325is but do not know how to enter!!! Even my mechanics who have worked on the car are clueless. Help!!

You will need to take your registration for the car and ID with you for proof of ownership with you to the dealership.

Take the headset to my BMW dealer and verify that you own this radio and then, they will look for the unlock code on their computers, of course after getting a specific serial # that’s placed on the back of the radio.

BMW Z3 WRONG UNLOCK RADIO CODE HOW TO GET THE RIGHT ONE

If the radio is displaying code wait, or wait, then the ignition and radio must remain on for 1hour. I would contact a dealer within the USA and provide them with your radio serial number. The serial number can be displayed in the radio by pressing and holding down the "M" button while turning on the ignition.

I have a 1988 735i I had gotten the code from a dealer but it still wont unlock the radio . I need help please . Ft Worth

If the radio displays code or wait, then you have to make sure the ignition stays on for 1 hour before trying to enter the code. It is also possible the dealer gave you the wrong code. BMW had 3 different makers of radios back then. Blaupunkt, Pioneer, and Alpine. Make sure they checked which maker of your radio was.

Unlock radio code

Hello!
To unlock the radio you will need to inform your local B.M.W. Agent/Dealer of the Registration details i.e. V.I.N./Chassis number ownership Log Book/Title they will be able to supply you with the necessary code for your radio to work. Have you looked through the booklets/service history if available in the Glove box maybe written down there?
Good Luck!

BMW BUSINESS SYSTEMS RDS

Hello There.

The wait means you need to wait with the radio on for a certain amount of time, depending on how many times the wrong code was entered.

To get your unlocking code there are many websites that offer an unlocking service for a few £/$ . here is one that I found>
