i have 1984 nissa 2.4 motor that i have put into a1992 truck but the 92 wiring for distbutor will not firer threw the plugs so i put 92 distbutor n 84 motor it fires but truck louds up with fuel rough idle can anyone help please thsnks fellows
I don't see the knock sensor on the 4.0L engine.

two possible problems come to mind,,, 1.) idle air control valve (IAC) is restricted 2.) throttle position sensor is out of adjustment
to test the IAC, find a vacuum hose smaller than the size of a golf tee anywhere near the throttle body and unplug it....then start the vehicle. if the vehicle idles then replace theIAC
if this doesn't help see a technician that can diagnose the concern further and look at things like fuel trims, MAF values and BARO
replace the idle air control valve and that will solve your problem good luck, hope this helps, here is a picture of the part and a diagram of its location on the motor.
You have a wire shorting out when you press the clutch. You will need to have help looking for it. Have someone set inside and press the clutch and look for a wire that is coming into contact with the linkage. Good Luck.
this sounds like crankshaft position sensor, my Cherokee was ding same thing it ended up being crank shaft position sensor. this part costs about $50 and is easy to install.
