Broken VW New Beetle hood release

very careful, if the handle got disengaged or broke, try grabbing the cable with pliers, don brake it, just pull gently until it opens.

Remove the covers at the foot kick panel and take the cable out the broken latch. Hold the outer cale still and pull on the inner cable.

Their is a cable in the control access the cable and pull on it with a pair of pliers then replace the part

Open the hood / bonnet, look behind the headlamp and you will see a Black lever, pull down (very stiff) and the whole lamp will release

You pull on the release hook of the hood from under the car using a long piece of stiff wire.

Open the hood and look down beside the battery youll see a black lever.Pull the lever up it may take some patience but it will release,the headlight assembly will slide out of the front of the vehicle.Once you take the assembly out on the backside youll see a metal clip holding the bulb in place.Just depress the clip and it will release,Simply just reverse the procedure for installation.

if it is broken at the handle you should be able to grasp the cable with pliers to pull it otherwise you will have to go out front of truck and the best way i found requires long arms, but you would have to use a flashlight and slide under front bumper and look upward to find cable/latch assembly. You may be able to do it through the grill but if cant see it through the grill under neath.if you in front of truck pull latch to right and it will release.

the cable is broken.

Get a long screwdriver and try to release the secondary latch that way. Or if you have small hands reach up under the hood and pull the secondary latch toward the left.
