It would help if you join a VW forum that has Polo group. You'll have a higher chance for info regarding the vehicle. The control arm is pretty much straight forward, I'd advice you to mark the balljoint (bottom 3 bolts carrier) by using a center punch before you loosen this bolts. This will help you put it back the same exact position and lessen the probability of messing the alignment in a big way.
I'd also suggest to replace the control arm rubber bushings if the mileage is quite high.
Open the hood/bonnet and you should see the back of the headlights in the front corners of the engine compartment. Look for bolts/sping-clamps that are holding them in place, and remove. Slide the headlight out so you can reach the bulb, remove the old one and replace. Reverse the removal procedure to replace the headlight
if its a similar engine to the standard vw's then you can bend the spring loaded tensioner right behind the alternator with a spaneer (shifting spanner works well) and it loosens the belt.
the starting issue is probally down to the throttle housing being al carboned up.take it of and get it spotless,a toothbrush and some solvent is good.make sure you clean around where the butterly sits and the edges of the butterfly itself,dont just look from the top and think its looks ok take it off.
under the mirror there should be a 1 1/2 slot door under mirror that looks like a flat lid this will be flush with mirror moulding where it looks like a quarter can turn it
this is the light access panel the detachment screw is threw this panel to take off mirror then you can access the bulb
