2008 Saturn VUE XE 2.4 litre automatic 2.500 miles. Traction control "OFF" illumnated, service engine light on, airbag light on, tranny in limp mode, engine continues to run for 10-15 seconds after ignition is shut off. Dealership has replaced ignition switch and fuse box, but this did not change anything.

What Dealership ?????? Saturn dealers are no more . What is it you would like to know ? Complex electronic's involved . Ignition switch is low voltage input to the BCM - body control module. Have seen this problem your having before , BCM problem ! Service engine light on ????? What DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's are stored , same for air bags an Traction control "OFF" What code's . Any code's stored in any module ? Do a full vehicle scan .

The body control system consists of the body control module (BCM), communications, and various input and outputs. Some inputs, outputs and messages require other modules to interact with the BCM. The BCM also has discrete input and output terminals to control the vehicle body functions. The BCM is wired to the GMLAN High speed serial data buss and the GMLAN Low speed serial data buss and acts as a gateway between them. If the BCM does not communicate the vehicle will not start due to the inability of the engine/powertrain control module (ECM/PCM) and vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) control module to communicate without the BCM providing the gateway function.

Power Mode Master
This vehicles BCM functions as the power mode master (PMM). The ignition switch is a low current switch with multiple discrete ignition switch signals to the PMM for determination the power mode that will be sent over the serial data circuits to the other modules that need this information, and so the PMM will activate relays and other direct outputs of the PMM as needed. Refer to Power Mode Description and Operation for a complete description of power mode functions.

Your best bet , try a different dealer .

SOURCE: car won't start

Only a few basic things are necessary for the engine operation 1. Fuel (To be exact proper air/fuel ratio, normally it is about 14/1)
2. Spark (in appropriate moment)
3. Proper timing (the valves should open and close only in appropriate time)
4. Compression in the cylinders (Normal compression is 120 - 170 psi. The engine won't start if the compression is lower than 70 - 80 psi.)
Plus, to start the engine, the battery, the starter and the starter circuit should be OK.

If the engine won't start - there's no magic - one of these things is probably missing. Most often it's a spark- or fuel- related problem, but often it could be very simple things like dead battery.
If the car won't start, check simple things first:
Make sure you have a fuel in the tank, oil in the engine and the battery is OK, follow this link - How to check the battery
Now simply answer the questions, press "Yes" or "No" (If it's blue, follow the link).

- Do you hear the cranking sound when you're trying to start your car? (Yes No )
- When you switch the ignition ON before starting a car, does the "check engine" light come ON? (Yes No )
- When you switch the ignition ON, do you hear fuel pump buzzing sound from the gas tank area? (Yes No )
Before your engine died, did you experience any prior events such as:
- leaving the lights ON overnight (Yes No)
- driving through a deep puddle, or washing the engine compartment? (Yes No)
- trying a jump start? (Yes No)
- having only a little fuel in a tank? (Yes No)
- having had the engine repaired recently? (Yes No)
- the engine was overheated? (Yes No)
- extremely low oil pressure? (Yes No)
- unusual noises such as knocking, pinging, whistling? (Yes No)
- smoking from exhaust pipe? (Yes No)
- strong smell of a gas? (Yes No)

Now, let's try again. Turn off the radio, try to crank the engine one more time, and listen carefully. Is the cranking sounds different than it used to be? If it's different, does it looks like the engine being cranked by the starter too slowly? (Yes No)
Is the engine being cranked too fast? (Yes No)

Hope this may help;

SOURCE: 2003 saturn vue

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but mine failed at 29K and became undriveable at 31K and after years of hard handling, I treated that car like it was Christmas tree ornaments, fully expecting it to last until I am dead; the engine failed at 57,600. It's gone and I'm still breathing. It was the last GM anything I will ever own.

SOURCE: 2008 malibu service esc traction control and eng

The torque converter clutch circuit may be at fault. The best way to determine the problem is to have a scanner/computer to read check engine codes.

Was there a recall on the brake boosters in 2008 Saturn Vue XE

If you call the service department at your local chevy/gmc dealer and give them your Vehicle Identification Number, they can tell you if there was a recall on your specific vehicle. Many recalls had VIN breaks where only certain number ranges were recalled. It's always safer to call the GM dealer.

My Saturn 2003 Vue has 146,000 miles and all of sudden will not go into gear. No warning lights or engine lights came on.This is a 4 cylinger 2.4 engine front wheel drive. What could be the problem?

DOES THE VEHICLE SEEM TO GO INTO LIMP MODE AROUND 20 MILES BEFORE IT DOES THIS. IF THIS OCCURS THEN THERE IS A SENSOR ON THE TRANSMISSION WHICH CAUSES THIS PROBLEM CHECK WITH YOUR DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU MORE INFORMATION

How do you work the 4 wheel drive system in the snow do I need to switch anything? i have a 2008 Saturn Vue Xe

IT'S AUTOMATIC! If there is a "TCS" or "Traction Control" button/switch, then leave that engaged at virtually all times. That year of the Saturn Vue did not come with 4WD (4x4); it offered AWD (all-wheel drive) which automatically supplements its traction control system (which was standard on all trims of that model in that year). AWD tranfers up to 50% of the power to the rear wheels when it detects wheel slippage. One up side (or pro) to having AWD is that you can use it on pavement. 4WD is generally too aggressive for that.

My service engine soon light is on. I have a known problem of a SDM being out (my airbags will not function)My service engine and the airbag light are constantly on because of this. Is the SES light on...

The service engine soon light will not be relate to the airbag light. You will need to have your obd3 Diagnostic Trouble Codes read Most auto parts stores will do this for you. This will also pinpoint the cause of your SES light. If your bags have not been deployed you can have the control module reset at www.myairbags.com for a reasonable price.

I have an 03 saturn vue, 2wd with auto trans. When driving, usually at less than 2 miles the engine shuts down at about 500 rpm like when stopping for a red light. Have to disconnect battery to reset...

sounds like a throttle sensor fault do to the fact that the saturn vue doesnt idle at 500 normally its uaually between 600-800. i suggest getting it hooked to a diagnostic machine to find wat the codes are cause im sure it will be several.
