Lights seem ultra dim

On my sister's '95 Ford Mustang, both the normal lights and brights seem really dull. She actually drives with her brights on for normal night driving, and it still pales in comparison to any other headlights on the road.Shes had the bulbs replaced at the dealership twice, but it didn't help any. Also, the plastic casing doesn't seem too fogged over/clouded, so investing in a new pair of those doesn't seem smart. Any chance it could be a wiring or connectivity issue?

Check your lenses for fogging, just a little can make headlights dull, try cleaning them with metal polish and rags/paper towel, untill rags/paper have no yellow residue...

Yes. it could be a poor ground. If you are handy you can check this out yourself, otherwise go to any autoelectric shop where the technician will solve this for you.

1995 Ford Mustang GT V8. Why do my dim headlights not work?

" dim headlights "? None of your lights should be 'dim'. You have 4 lights.

Side Lights.
Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
Low Beam Headlights.
High Beam Headlights.

Here are the fuses, check fuse 5 and D although they covers more items than lights. Your best bet is to find a good local auto-electrician.

Headlights only work on bright

i had this happen with my dodge ram 1500. the guy i bought it from put 350 dollar moon lit lights in with leds and they looked impressive but the issue was that they didnt go bright and i could only see 40 feet in front of me and i was sure taping led flashlights would have done me more good that those stupid headlights. then i had the idea of if the brights work and the dims dont then that means no electricity is getting to the dims so i decided to bridge the power from the bright headlight to the dims and it made all four work. now they all work, and only on bright. so im figuring there is a issue with the wiring in the truck. so this is a temporary solution if you really need just plain old lights like i did because i live out in the country

Where is the fuse for the dash lights . the light are bright with key on. Go dull when the headlights are turned on

That is normal. They go bright because during the daytime the outside light is also bright so the lights compensate for the outside brightness by making your dash lights also bright. When you turn your headlights on it assumes it is nighttime and you don't need to have the brightness to see the dash lights so it compensates for this. If you want them to be dimmer, near the light switch there is a roller button to turn your interior lights on just roll that some and it will either make the dash lights brighter or dimmer.

I AM INSTALLING A TACHOMETER IN MY 89 MUSTANG GT AND I DONT KNOW WHICH WIRE TO USE ON THE DIMMER SWITCH FOR THE TACH LIGHT?

Grab a $5 12volt test light & probe back of switch where wiring comes into switch, for wire that has power when you pull lights on. If that's when you want it illuminated. If you want it too go bright or dim with dash , poke wires until you find that one, while turning switch to bright dim, and test light will do same.

98 Explorer's Headlights won't work...have to hold highbeam on

Sounds like your switch is bad (i.e. turn signal / healight dimmer / winshield lever switch) inside the steering column. Replace as necessary.

Dims don't work but brights do.

I believe that all of the Functions Listed above are on the Same Handle. There is a Half Moon Circuit and Switch that Goes around the Steering Shaft inside the Steering Column for this Handle. This is Malfunctioning and will need to be Replaced. Not an Easy Job. You will need to Pull the Sterring Wheel and go from their. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
