Mid 60's fordson super major tachometer not working . Any thoughts

My father owns a fordson super major and lost his oil drain plug on him. What size of drain plug does it take? Is it standard or metric? The hole measures approx. 5/8 inch.

Play it safe, get that from the dealer.

search tractor wreckers and spares
talk with your local hydraulic engineering shop as they may have a generic replacement part or can make them for you

I need to get to the front wheel bearings on my fordson super major and the the dust cap is rusted on what's the best way to remove it with out damage?

I have a small fluid drip from the back of my 1956 fordson major (at pto shaft ) is this a big job? & could it cause leak between gearbox & back axle.

If it is a small leak just leave it alone it is not worth the work and most likely the shaft is worn and the real cause of the leak.

1952 Fordson major diesel hyd fluid gets into front tranny

Sounds as if the input shaft seal for the hydraulic pump that is driven off the transmission is bad and allowing the fluid to enter the transmission housing. When the fluid gets too full it aerates and causes the "root beer float" fluid.

1956 fordson major diesel-has front end loader and backhoe on back. What weight hydraulic fluid should I use in the loader and backhoe systems.

It depends a little on what the temperature is outside. I think I normally run a 10w in my backhoe.

I don't what to tell you this per dates me .
However it must be a seal or worn shaft and oil is leaking .
Sight unseen the best thing I can give to you is try LCM TRUCK PARTS.
You may be able to find some vary hard parts to find that you may need
