SOURCE: volvo s80 dashboard fault

This is a known problem although Volvo will not admit it. The dash needs to come out (10 min job) and sent away for a simple repair. Total cost is about £150 but you will need to get the SRS warning that will be showing in the LED message display cancelled by a Volvo dealer after the dash has come back. Don't try a scrapyard dashboard the ECUs have IP addresses. I used a company in Kent to do the repair. Get onto Google there may be a repairer more local.

2010 ford kuga with AWD malfunction light...runs well..seems to have happened since wheel alignment

Check Your ABS wheel sensors if one of these got hit or bumped to hard during your alignment then it will tell your car that one wheel is moving at a different speed than the others and put the car into what we call "limp" mode. An OBD2 scanner will tell you which wheel is malfunctioning.

Instrument cluster light

You may want to look at the fuse and even the wiring at the back of the dashboard. It may have gone loose, the symptoms of which was the flashing or flickering. Check the wires and the ground for the connections or it may need replacement.

Back Tails/Loose Wire

Hi,

Initially, pls try:
  • determine exactly where the loose connection is;
  • if it is on the connector, unplug and clean the prongs and contact mates;
  • you could also try using an electric contact cleaner but manual cleaning is still best;
  • in some instances, you may need to scrape the prongs to ensure no corrosion;
  • in some instances, you may need to slightly bend the prongs so that they provide more pressure when plugged in.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
