Most well used diesels get a liberal coating of oil over just about every internal and external component, fortunately the heat of combustion tends to keep the important parts free of most of the oil - and the heat of a working glow plug of course burns off the oil that would otherwise coat it.

Could be the glow plug isn't working...

I have a 530D BMW 2005 model, I found that the diesel is mixing with the oil and giving off massive amount of white smoke. The diagnostic report showed glow plug cylinder 5 and 6. We did the service a

I am not to sure what u are asking here but I would say u need 2 glow plugs . I would be checking the dpf filter as that gives off a light colour smoke when trying to regen and if it can't regen that is where the fuel is getting in oil , modern diesels need to have long runs quite oftern driving around town blocks up dpf in the exhaust the car try's to regen using extra fuel to get it up to temp to burn off the soot inside it prob not running long enough to do it. If u got good diagnostic gear u can preform a regen stationary hope this helps

Glow plug maybe out on 2005 f350 king ranch

2 ways to check 1) have key out of ignition, remove glow plug power rail, get ohm meter on top of glow plug where rail bolts on & base of plug where you bolt it in. check all plugs & should be similar. 2) remove plugs & hook jumper leads to battry, connect - jump lead to base of plug where it screws into the block, touch tip of plug where power rail bolts on with the + jumper lead but do not touch the heating element of the plug extremely hot extremely quick. hold power on for 5 - 7 sec until glow bright red. repeat with all plugs (faulty ones will take longer to glow or not glow at all)

Audi A6 3.0 tdi Quattro 2005, glow plug light comes on, limp mode

16619 -Engine boost condition - Limit not reached. Check intake hoses/ connections for leaks. Check Turbo charger waste gate regulating valve/ waste gate working correctly. Must move freely when accelerating, won't achieve full boost if waste gate sticking open. Check Turbo impeller turning freely, oil feed pipe for turbo can get blocked causing impeller to seize. Engine compact, not easy to access these components.

To change plugs on a 2005 tuscon 6 cylinder do you need to take the dome off to get atthe rear plugs

Most cars now have a plastic cover over the engine. Generally to reach the back plugs, vacuum hoses, etc. you have to remove the cover. Most can be "unsnapped" by lifting straight up on them. Typically the oil filler tube is helping to hold them down. The filler tube should come of by turning to release it (unscrewing - may be clockwise). I would suggest putting the oil filler back on to avoid contamination in the oil. This will make reaching the back plugs significantly easier.

My 2004 f250 after it sits it wont start. the wait to start light only comes on for bout1 to 2 sec. the only way i start it is to plug it up at night what is my problem.

The wait to start light always comes on for at least 1 sec, if it goes off early it must think the engine is warm.

My guess is you have a faulty engine oil temp sensor that is telling the pcm that it is already warm. The only way to know for sure is to read the info with a scan tool.

Glow Plug System: Description and Operation
GLOW PLUG SYSTEM
The 6.0L diesel engine uses a glow plug system that preheats air in the combustion chamber to improve cold engine starting.
The system consists of:
- glow plugs.
- glow plug control module.
- powertrain control module (PCM).
- engine oil temperature (EOT) sensor.
- barometric pressure sensor (BARO sensor).
The glow plug monitor system is part of the On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD II) System.
The glow plug system is electronically controlled by the powertrain control module. If the oil temperature is below 55°C (131°F) the powertrain
control module will energize the glow plugs immediately after the key is placed in the ON position. Then, depending on the readings from the engine
oil temperature (EOT) sensor and the barometric pressure (BARO) sensor, the powertrain control module determines how long the glow plugs will be
on.
The glow plugs are located in the cylinder heads, under the glow plug buss bar.
The glow plugs are self-regulating. If the engine oil temperature is above 55°C (131°F), the powertrain control module will bulb-check the WAIT TO
START lamp but not energize the glow plug relay.
The glow plug ON time varies from 0-120 seconds depending on battery voltage, engine oil temperature and barometric pressure.
The glow plug control monitor (GPCM) system is designed to find failed glow plugs or failed wiring in the glow plug system.

Engine Maintainance light on

This could most likely be one of 2 things, 1. if it is your maintainance light, it is probably one of your sensors, possibly the mass air filter sensor, oil pressure sensor, and 2. If it is a diesel engine and its the glow plug light, you would need to replace your glow plug relay because it telling you that the glow plugs are still on when the engine is running, which you should take care of asap before you have to replace the glow plugs themselves.
