I WANT TO LOWER THE Speed governor for my teenagers 2004 Jeep Liberty. Hopefully keeping him from killing himself or someone else. Does anyone know how to do this. I have the computer interface but I have only ever read codes and reset them.
Do not think they have any governor in fact that is a big noser .Anyway if you did something like that and be pulled in front of another car or truck or I don't know train and had to bit the gas hard? Now what? Not a good idea, I know Ford and Chrysler have my key that when that key is in ignition will only do 65 or so maybe it's time to change vehicles?

Some things you can check. 1 jack up one side at a time. Grasp the tire on each side and try to move the tire, if you can move it you have a bad inner tie rod on that side. You can also grasp the tire at the top and bottom and try to move it that way as well, this will tell you if you have bad ball joints. I suspect a bad inner tie rod here as you have replaced everything else. If you check both front tires and nothing is loose your problem lies in your front brake rotors. Hope this gives you some help and thank you for using FixYa!

any vehicle can have any component fail at anytime. The only way to know is to have it inspected for the correct diagnosis if your experiencing problems. If you want a second opinion because you don't trust the first one then your only going to get that at a repair shop.
