Disconnecting the negative battery lead should clear the codes . Reconnect it then check they are gone when you turn on the ignition
It has code P0340 and p0399 and fan bank 2 but all fans are working it had been just setting for over 2 years and needed a oil change real bad so I did that with Royal purple changed the oil gasket and seals new spark plugs and wires and 4 new sensors. I just have a little cheap code reader and the car ideals and runs a little rough
Could not having the codes erased could that cause it to run rough even since I did the oil and sensors I might have drove it 4 miles so far but it starts right up no problems

Take it to the patents house and ask them to wipe that code. If you did not remove the ground cable before installing. Your computer has not reset it self for the new parts. Try disconnecting the ground cable. Leave it disconnected for 10 minutes. Then reconnect and turn the switch to like your going to crank it. Just don't turn it to where it gets to start. Do that 3 times just on and off quickly. That will reset your cars computer to the new parts.
Testimonial: "will that make it start running back better and idle normal?"
Often after repair the fault codes have to be cleared using a plug in fault code reader with fault clearing facility.
Try unhooking battery for a bit
Testimonial: "ok I will try what is that supposed to do when you unhook it for a bit"
Did you clear the codes?
Testimonial: "yes the codes were cleared and they came back"
what codes do you have and what engine?
P0339 and P0340 are the codes and it says something about fan bank 2 and the car runs rough
well p0340 is the cam sensor. if its been replaced, the wires and connectors are good, i would check to see if the the timing belt has jumped out of time. p0339 is the crank sensor. this would be for a 4cyl. engine. the v-6 engine has a timing chain. they can also jump time.
It had just sitting up for over 2 years so I knew the pill needed to be changed so I put some Royal purple oil in it. Is there any can have that with good oil there is a chance that it will jump back in place ??? Or what do you say is the easiest way to get it back in line
And yes I cleared the codes after putting new sensors in but I have no really drove it since the oil change and the sensors came back up as the codes
It also show a fan is not working bank 2 but all the fans come
Have you hooked up a stereo or anything like that. If so you could a ground wire bleeding over. If so that will cause your computer to get false readings.

Hi there. Newer cars sometimes require u to bring in to an authorised repair centre to code in the new part that u have just replaced. Most common fault apart from that issue above is the wiring connections at the sensor may not be making contact at all.
My former VW would flash those two codes when tested key on engine off, the codes would not flash when tested key on engine running.
With a bad crank shaft sensor, the engine will not run, no spark nor fuel injector signal.
Under what condition are you reading the codes? The timing need to be on its marks, piston TDC, camshaft, and distributor if applicable or the Amber check engine will light up while the engine is running. 2¢
It starts right up no problem it starts to run rough when you drive it past 35 I was thinking that since it set up for over 2 year if I drove it a while it might fix the problem IDK
Good idea, exercise it, cycle some fresh fuel thru the system. About the timing, a stretched timing belt may cause camshaft sensor code while driving. After market timing belt life is at around 60,000 miles
Inspect the airflow sensor, you may want to spray sensor cleaner on it if it looks contaminated.

SOURCE: I HAVE A 2000 DODGE STRATUS 2.5 V6. WHERE IS THE
Cam is on the end of the block, crankshaft sensor is on the bottom of the block. Both are easy to change....are you changing these due to poor performance or no start condition?
SOURCE: 2004 DODGE STRATUS 2.7L, Location of Crankshaft Position Sensor?
it is located on the right side of the motor, in the trans area. Actually in the bell housing.
SOURCE: where is the camshaft position sensor located on a
the camshaft sensor is mounted on the camshaft housing located on the end of the cylinder head.
SOURCE: a bad camshaft position sensor for a 2.4L 2005 dodge stratus
THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HEAD. 2 BOLTS AND AN OVAL FLANGE. IT HAS A RED LOCK ON THE PLUG WHICH YOU JUST MOVE TO THE RIGHT TO RELEASE THE MAIN PLUG. BUT I dont know if thats your problem. the timing belt seems to fail on these cars prematurely. Dodge recomends 90,000 miles but many cars bend engine valves before this due to the timing belt. (around 83000-88000) miles. I would reccomend having someone look into this problem first. Also trying this yourself can be costly, simply because the timing belt MUST be installed properly and exactly. If this is not done the engine could be at risk causing expensive repairs. Ihave a friend who had the timing belt replaced by an individual and the i recieved it on a tow truck. Which it now cost them 1600.00 to repair. I have been a mechanic for 15 years. But i got smart and went back to college and npw i am a refrigeration technition. Just trying to help you out. any ? [email protected] i would be glad to help.
SOURCE: code reads P0340 Camshaft position Sensor circuit
That makes the computor think the timing is off. Replace the sensor and see if that does it. You will then have to have the code cleared (erased) or the light will come back on/stay on.

The car is runni g rough and ideals high sometimes but starts right up and you can drive it but since it had set up I changed oil with Royal purple and changed 4 sensors and gasket seals spark plugs and wires
Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. To check if it is a vacuum leak. Get you a can of carb and choke cleaner. Locate your vacuum lines and spray each one until your engine eather idols up or down. That's what I would check first. Then check your o2 sensor. Any parts house will give you a free check.
will that cause it to still show codes for camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor and fan bank 2 when all fans are working and have new sensors
do you think it has anything to do with the belt ?
If your belt is slipping yes.that would give your computer a false reading. Before you do anything else to it. Disconnect the ground cable at the battery.
Ok Kevin Matthews I will do that in the morning and let you know thank you so much for for help
seriously if the timing belt or chain is off time the parts that line up with your sensors will be off and for sure would cause code p0340 or p0339 and it wouldnt run right.
you have a 4 or 6cyl. stratus?
I have a 4 cyl
I will check for vacuum leaks and do the battery asap I could not do it this morning because I was running late but will in morning and let you know thank you for your help
