Know how to properly jump power. A power surge should be avoided by not running the engine in the jumper vehicle while crancking the jumped. Sensitive components are at risk. Allow time for dead or low jumped battery to charge and make sure the jumping vehicle engine is shut off before trying to crank the jumped.
Blown fuses in power distribution box and possible circuit breaker/relays fried you can not use a welder off the alternator this can also have blown diodes in it do you hear a sort of whistling sound when you raise the rpm's if you do that alternator is going to leave you on the side of the road soon
Make sure the drive belt for the steering pump is still on the pulley, make sure the pump is spinning and not locked up.
Sounds like u have a proplem with the charging system

How about the turn signals, are they working? If not, then pull the fuse for the Steering Wheel Module (SWM) to reset the module. There is software upgrade from Volvo to prevent this in the future!

Try turning the advance-trac off. If you have a systems menu (Should be right side of Speedo) you have options for Park assist, bells ,chimes and so on. One selection is the Traction. The traction assist works by throttling down the engine when it detects a difference in rotation from 1 wheel to the next.
You need a scan for the codes but your hunk of metal is not able to go to Autozone or Oreillys until you start it.
You may also want to try to enter the keyless entry code in the door keypad in case the antitheft is upset. Your alarm may block the ignition.
Defeating the traction control and alarm system may get you going.
