SOURCE: 1997 jeep grand air blend door location

The Jeep Grand Cherokee sucks air from the outside via a hole on the passenger side of the cowl. It's under the black plastic piece that runs under the wipers.

The air is then sucked via the blower and blown into the housing where the heater core and A/C evaporator core live.

The blend door is inside this housing as well.

This also depends on if you have regular climate control or the more advanced ATC digital climate control found on some of the Limiteds.

You could possibly take out your glovebox and see if there are any broken pieces going to the door accuator.

Otherwise if it's internal, you'll need to take out the heater/ A/C housing.

To get to this housing, you have to take apart your entire dash, lift the top dash cover off, and then you'll see the housing. You could possibly check for a few thing there.

Most everything there is vacuum controlled.

You have to drain your antifreeze and have your A/C freon discharged (use a professional to capture the freon).

There are 5-6 nuts holding the housing to the firewall. You have to reach these from the engine compartment.

Disconnect your A/C lines and heater hoses. Pull out housing.

This is definately an advanced project, thus the reason for the high pricing.

Hopefully you can get it fixed without having to take this Jeep apart entirely. Try diagnosing with a vacuum gauge if necessary before tearing it apart.

Replace blend door in 07 Chrysler sebring

The most likely problem is either the blend door actuator or a broken blend door itself.
Both are only accessible by complete removal of the instrument panel(dash).
The blend door actuator can be tested with a Chrysler factory scan tool hooked up to the DLC(data link connector). If blend door actuator is working when tested with the factory scan tool, then blend door itself is at fault.
The only other way to test the blend door actuator is to test for 12v at connector, but you would have to remove the instrument panel in order to gain access to the actuator

2004 f350 ford heater blows cool air but hoses are both warm-where do i start looking

check to see if the blend door is moving where you change the temperature setting. I think your blend door is behind the glove box. Here are instructions for removing the actuator. Take it off, plug it back in and see if the motor rotates. Also check to see if you can rotate the blend door by hand. If you can rotate it by hand, the motor is probably broken of the gears are stripped. Let me know if you have questions.
  1. Release the stops and lower the glove compartment door.
  2. Disconnect the connector.

1999 Silverado - cannot get the temperature to switch from cool air to warm air when turning the knob to heat.

The temp blend door, or blend door actuator may be faulty. You can check this by watching the movement of the blend door actuator while you turn the temp selector knob. If the actuator is working, then it may be the blend door, or blend door lever broken. If these are ok then the control head may be faulty.
