Something internal, and probably expensive is stopping the crankshaft.

It may have fluid in a cylinder. Take out the injectors and see if it will rotate. Be careful because if there is fluid in a cylinder it will be pushed out. If it still does not want to rotate then turn the engine backwards with the socket and see how far it goes. If it locks up again, pull the pan .

Sounds like a broken connecting rod, you will have to remove the pan to find out.

Was this a preexisting problem if not verify that the trani fluid type was correct. It should have been dexron or Dexron 2 fluid(not mercon products) check the fluid level over filling can be just as bad as underfilling)

SOURCE: 1986 FORD F 350 DIESEL 6.9 REPLACED INJECTOR PUMP

check to see that your mechanical fuel pump is working on the lower right side of the engine. VERY problematic pump due to design and location. Have you replaced your fuel filter with the injector pump swap? cause you need to do that , its a must If your getting fuel to your injector pump you have to bleed the lines to each cylinder to bleed out the air in the system. If that all checks out then you need to set the timing to 8 deg using a timing light and a diesel injection pulse width adapter timing tool. purchase a haynes manuel for 6.9l/7.3l diesel engines to follow the correct procedure for setting timing to manufactures spec. You will have to disconnect sensor at certain times during the timing stage so make sure it is done right!
PS - I hope you marked a reference line on the pump to line up with the line on the housing cause that will get you close to start! good luck

2007 350 twin turbo ,oil getting in turbo and reducing engine power on my 2008 ford 350 diesel

This is a hard question to answer, but I will try to help. I would assume that you have taken some portion of the turbo system off.

First, it is possible for one side to be good and the other to be bad. You would want to look at the exhaust ports from the heads to see if there is oil going to the Turbo from a bad Valve seal from a cylinder or a bad oil ring on a Piston.

Once you are assured that the problem is in the Turbo, there are oil seals on the rotor shafts. If there is a roughness in an oiled bushing or shaft surface, the Turbo slows down. This would reduce power. You may be able to feel the roughness with your hands.

Another Fixya Expert may be able to tell you more about testing the RPM of the Turbo and they may know how to do it without disassembling them. I hope my input has helped.
