2002 saturn sl1. The car randomly will not start. Ive found it mostly happens after a short 5-20 min trip. When this happens there is no sign of the car turning over at all. I replaced the starter about 6 months ago and havent had the problem until the last few weeks again. Ive replaced the battery, and the neutral safety switch as well. Ive checked the terminals to the battery and the starter wires only where they connect to the starter, it all seems to be good. If anyone can help me I would greatly apprieciate it.
Voltage drop testing the starter electrical circuit would be a good first step , ruling out the cable's connections an ground !
Starter Voltage Drop If this doesn't find a problem ,then check the control side . Ignition switch , when it won't start check for Battery voltage at the connection at the starter solenoid "S" terminal .

this is caused by burnt starter solenoid contacts, U can either replace the starter solenoid contacts (about $15) or u can replace the entire starter.

If the problem occurs after the car has been driven long enough to reach normal operating temperature, the problem is the starter. If the 'no crank' occurs cold, retest the battery.

Hello:
NAPA sells the replacement bushing ($20) better than Saturns $200 to replace both cables.
