Ok so when you press a separate button for the others do you feel a click and the button stays in till you press it again and it comes out but when your driver button is pushed in it just come out and doesn't stay in the switch is broken inside and the lock isn't engaging inside holding the button in /or is it that the switch stays illuminated showing its on but no heat from the seat element if that's the case you have to get under the seat cover to the element and possible clean the plug and connector corrosion can get in there from moisture or that element has failed ok

SOURCE: 2008 Ford Taurus drivers seat heater w/n work.

you have elements underneath the seat cover most likely the drivers bottom seat element is burned out, you can check the resistance of it with a on ohm meter there is a 2 wire connector that goes to the backrest and then a 2 wire connector that goes to the seat cushion, more likely its the seat bottom that is burnt out

SOURCE: What's your problem?2008 Ford Taurus X, drivers seat heater w/n work. WHen you press the button for the seat heater to come on the light flashes and goes out.

Check fuses, check connections, check relays, if you get power to heater and it does not work the heater is likely at fault.

How to repair a drivers heated seat on a 2007 Ford 500

The following checks and repairs can help you:
1. In the fuse box within the bonnet - check fuse number 22, if burnt, replace it
2. Check fuse 19 in the fuse box inside the car located under the dashboard on the driverside
3. If these steps don't help, the problem may be with the wiring and connection between the module and the seat cushion - inspect it
4. Check if the signal return on the circuit is adequately functioning - if the module is being informed of an active seat
5. If there is a problem - repair or replace the circuit and/or wiring.

How do I disarm anti theft device on a 2001 ford taurus

SEE THE STEPS WITH CAREFULLY AND COMMON SENSE:God bless you
Press the unlock button on your vehicle's key fob to deactivate the alarm. If you've misplaced your remote for the car, use the PATS programmed key to unlock the driver's side door. Then, put the key in the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position. The vehicle's battery should be on, but the engine shouldn't be running.

  • 2 Locate the override button on the alarm box, beneath the driver's side of the dashboard. Press the button and hold it in until the alarm beeps one time. The LED light for the alarm should stop blinking, indicating the anti-theft system is disabled.

  • 3 To reset the vehicle's alarm, put the PATS programmed key in the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position. Press the override button. When the alarm resets, it chirps two times and the LED light begins blinking.

Here is a heated seat TSB for cars built prior to 12/14/07

    MERCURY:

    ISSUE
Some 2005-2007 Freestyle, Five Hundred, Montego and 2008 Taurus, Sable and Taurus X vehicles built before 12/14/2007 may exhibit an inoperative heated seat(s). This concern may be caused by an intermittent open element in the heated seat mat.

    ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

    SERVICE PROCEDURE
The heated seat system is controlled by the heated seat module located underneath the front passenger seat cushion. The heated seat switches are part of the heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) module but the heated seat system operates independently from the climate control system. The heated seat module regulates seat temperature by monitoring resistance of a thermistor type thermostat located in the cushion heater mat. The heated seat module is designed to remain on, heating the seat and maintaining temperature until switched off. For vehicles built before 5/1/2006, the module will time-out and switch off after 10 minutes.

    1. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10 for pin point test on inoperative heated seat(s).
    a. When testing the heater mats resistance and circuits for an intermittent open, technicians should sit in the seat while testing the circuit resistance, move the seat in multiple seating positions and apply pressure to several areas of the heated seat mat to ensure the mat element is not open intermittently.

    2. Refer to WSM 501-10 for heated seat element replacement when an open electrical circuit has been identified.
