2004 stratus starts run a min then dies an no fireAfter it dies

Could be the idle air control, once these start hanging up inside, they can cause as variety of problems with idle speed (can become wildly random) or simply a failure to idle at all.

This could also be caused by a failing ignition pack.

the pump dies when the engine stalls or runs too slow.
so, the steering has nothing to do with that , unless the
pump seized, so drop the belt and start car.
if car will not start, that is a no start question
post it as, cranks fast but will not start. and what engine option
some have diesel.

unhook battery it will reset to manufactery setting after several miles (10).reases code .

It may run poorly but it would run. Have the system scanned for fault codes.

try and clean the throttle body and throttle plate and the idle air contol valve

either the battery is stuffed or the alternator is not charging sufficient current to have power in reserve.

Your a/c compressor clutch may be starting to lock up causing the engine to stall.

I bet your engine light is on! sounds like you want to gue$$ this problem out! could be 1 of 10 problems quickest solution OBD 2 scan it get the fault and let the wrenches spin!

hey-I have has this before different car but same - idle control valve is failing - computer at shop will pick this up on diagnostic
