I would retrace your steps checking for any loose or unconnected wires etc , are you sure the original problem was with the steering motor as you say it still wont work

Have 2008 chevy Malibu Ltz.past few days the dash will say "power steering "of course wheel gets tight. it's electric..not sure if the pump is going out or if it's the lines..how can someone tell?

The system can be scanned for faults, in the is case you need that test performed. The pump only runs when the computer control unit commands it to run it is on demand, this information comes from sensors in the system..

dear . if warring light coming , some time low battery need re program steering ,you need to drive up to 80/k/h then stop
complete turn to right ,complete turn to left ,W.S off and ON
if coming red color warning.check fuses / wiring to steering motor

Looking where the heat and a/c blower is loc on my car

Blower Motor Removal & Installation To Remove:
WARNING
On vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only certain procedure for disabling the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in an accidental airbag deployment and possible vehicle damage and personal injury.
Negative Battery Cable Remote Terminal dod_intrpd_bttry_rmt_termnl.gif

  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • The negative battery cable remote terminal from the remote battery post
    • The lower right under panel duct
    • The blower motor connector from the blower motor resistor block/power module
    • The blower motor wiring grommet
      1. squeeze and push the grommet through the blower motor housing cover
    • The blower motor housing cover
    • The blower motor retaining screws
    • The blower motor by lowering from housing
To Install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • The blower motor in the HVAC housing and tighten the mounting screws
      1. Torque to: 20 inch. lbs. (2.2 Nm)
    • The blower motor housing cover
    • The blower motor wiring grommet in the blower motor housing cover
    • The blower motor harness connector to the blower motor resistor block/power module
    • The lower right under panel duct
    • The negative battery cable remote terminal to the remote battery post

How do you change a power steering motor on a 2006 saturn ion

THis unit uses an electric motor for the Power Steering
It is located under the dash on the steering column. Remove the two bolts and unplug the wires...
You will have to remove the trime under the Steering column and the panel left end of the dash. Cost of the motor is $169.00 from the Saturn Dealership.

WHY A SINGLE WIRE for Carburettor Esteem power steering pump

I had to fit second solenoid and took the positive feed from the carb. slow running solenoid. The single earth wire from the power steering pump was connected to the negative feed of the solenoid. The vacuum pipes were connected to the AC actuator in parallel
