They may very well have disconnected the factory spearer wires at the speaker end to use the wires with external after market speakers.
You changed the head do you have an amp you can try? Do you hear a click in the speaker when you turn the switch on and off? If yes check the antenna and cable. I hope this helps. Take care. If you have more questions for me about this vehicle use testimonial and it will show up in my email.

I cant really assist in this matter but I can let you know that I have a system in my 2006 Chevy Cobalt and that I have an aftermarket cd player installed. I had to pay $130 for a special adapter for it to be wired into the system because GM's newest idea of installing the stereo and airbags on the same wire scheme, is kind of a dumb idea.

No o don't have an amp and no I don't hear a click or a sound I have checked every wire
I'm not sure but you may have to connect 2 speakers, these are the wires according to My diagram, Blk-Ground. Brn- light dimmer. Gry-lights on input. Pink-power ant. Yel-Ign 10 amp fuse. Org-Battery 20 amp fuse. Rear speakers.. Lt. Blue-RR speaker neg. Dk Blue-RR Pos. Yel-LR neg. Brn-LR pos. Does this help?
Mine are all the same except I don't have a pink wire in the radio harness for the truck
