Have a 06 buick rendezvous 3.5 runs good till you let off the gas pedal and when you do it dies

At best there is 1 gallon or so left. So get has a.s.a.p. it is not good to run any GM vehicle under 1/4 tank as the fuel actually helps cool the fuel pump. Constantly running it to empty will shorten the life span of the fuel pumo

I am guessing your brake light switch is faulty or needs adjusting. Its located at the brake pedal

depending on if your buick has the DIC option, it could be 1 of 2 ways.

1. Turn key to accessory (key on , engine off)
2. depress mode button on the DIC display til you see "oil life left/hold to reset
3. Hold set button down till it says 100%
4. listen for 3 chimes
5. start car and see if its reset, if not, it wasn't reset, repeat steps 1-4.

If you don't have the DIC option, then:

1. Turn key to the "key on, engine off" position
2. Depress gas pedal to floor slowly 3 times, make sure you get the 3 presses to the floor within 5 seconds.
3. turn key off.
4. see if the light goes off.. if not, repeat the steps 1-3

Check by the fuel tank


Have someone turn the key on
& listen for fuel pump

Put a pressure gauge on the motor
at fuel rail & check pressure

Pump only runs for 3 sec, if you got no crank signal
or it fails to start

Have to cycle key

Test your fuel pressure for leak down while sitting.. It should hold 52-59 psi... If not it could be a weak fuel pump..Also test the fuel pressure regulator to see if its leaking gas into the vacuum lines.. Alot of times you can do this by running the vehicle then leaving it set for 45 min and then removing the vacuum line at the fuel regulator and checking for wetness... If its wet with fuel its leaking and needs replaced..

A few ways to reset the light, have u tried turning key to the run position with the engine off and pushing gas pedal to the floor 3 times?? That is main reset for most vehicles, try it 2-3 times to be sure.

man you only puts fuel when you fuel tank is really empty and that cause the air to enter into the fuel circuit try next time to refill before it gets totally empty and lights up
your car will turn on without pedal trick

oh thats the change oil light expect it every 3500 to 4500 miles they glow.. you can usually reset it by holding down the trip button with the car off and then turn the key to the II position where everything lights up

Turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three time in five seconds. If the CHANGE OIL SOON’ indicator flashes two times, the system is resetting. Turn the key to OFF, then start the vehicle. If the CHANGE OIL SOON indicator comes on and stays on for five seconds, repeat the procedure.

The DIC display is located on the instrument panel cluster above the steering wheel. The DIG buttons are located on the steering wheel. Press button with the gas pump symbol to display engine oil life. Press button with the arrow symbol to reset engine oil life display.

To reset Service Reminder Indicator, turn ignition on with engine not running. Press the MODE button until DIC reads oil life left hold SET to reset. Press and hold the SET button until 100% is displayed. You will hear three chimes and the change oil message will go out. If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL’ message comes back on when the vehicle is started, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

is the key on the run position(the dash lights should light up) with the motor off?
