Try disconnecting your battery. Wait 30 minutes and reconnect. See if that works.

SOURCE: CD player in my 2004 Dodge Stratus doesn't work

are they Burned or copied CD's? CDR, CDRW? cause if they are some radios will not read them and give error messages. if not try using a lazer lens cleaner CD, they sell them at most music stores, you may have lint or dust on the CD lens with summer weather, and pollen in the air and dust, CD player lenses take a beating, so get a WET lazer lens CD cleaner, and that should help fix the problem

SOURCE: I have a CD STUCK in my 2004 dodge Durango. How

1st try to hit the eject button multiple times in a row. If this doesn't work you have 3 options.
1= pull the radio unit, disassemble case, gingerly remove CD, and reassemble.
2=Go to dealer or repair shop and have them remove. If you have a warranty left, mopar should be able to help. Factory radios have been a problem with Mopar for years.
3= Go buy a new CD and forget about it

SOURCE: cd player quit working after i changed the battery radio still works fine.

kzingraff, I have a similar situation to Craig Waldie. I have a 2005 Durango and the CD player has not worked since I replaced the battery. Just like his 2004, the radio works perfectly, just not able to use the CD player. How can this issue be fixed?

Our radio will not which to cd. When we press the mode button only to sat. or radio?

It is easy to take out. There is a ribbon conector that controls the CD portion. Check that connection. Mine did the same thing right before the CD player went out.

Reset radio

According to a stereo place here on long island, who checked out our 2004 Durango after we needed to disconnect the battery, the system has to be reset to recognize that the car has a cd player. The technician said something about the DB unit...... we have an appointment to get this fixed, will update after it is done. Supposedly, this shop has this unit that resets the stereo, which is only available to Dodge dealers.....keep your fingers crossed. But the gist of it is, is that the computer is set for a standard AM/FM stereo, and has to be programmed to know that the vehicle is equipt with a cd unit also.
