SOURCE: WE BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST WEEK, IT WAS STARTING

take it to a auto parts store like advance auto, auto zone and they can check your battery and alternator to tell you if its either one of those. Thats what I would do first.

SOURCE: battery wont stay charged

Your alternator may be going out, have it bench tested at a Checker's or Autozone to see if it needs to be replaced. If it's bad which it probably is, replace it, if not you may have draw on the battery.

SOURCE: Battery not charging message. Took battery to have

Most likely you have a bad alternator. The alternator maintains the the charging system. you have the option to remove the alternator and take it to the parts store and have it tested too!.

hand it over to a mechanic or Nissan. If you recently had an M.O.T and it went of quickly then ask for a refund, even better, ask him to take a look at the car again

My car won't turn on it was working fine last

Just because you charged the battery it doesn't mean it is any good. Modern sealed batteries fail; just as you described, fine one moment and then nothing, they go open internally.

The battery won't stay charged

Hi it is possible that you Alternator is faulty,if you have access to a VoltMeter ,check the battery voltage in the morning before you try to start it you should have around 12.7 volts for a charged battery if not fully charge your battery again and check the voltage with your car running you should have around 14 volts with the engine reving at 1500 revs.ifyou get around 12 volts then your lights are taking more power from the battery than the Alternator can replace. You could also get your local garage to Drop Test your battery to see if any of the Cells are faulty

2006 Ford Expedition will not start this morning, battery checks 12 volts, will not do anything when turn key to start position

You can jump starter relay to see if starter will crank the engine. Pull the starter relay, use jumper wire between terminals 30 and 87, terminal 30 is hot all the time and there is a fuse, the starter motor should crank the engine. If you try that make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. Two voltage circuits at starter motor, one is hot all the time. The other goes hot when relay is energized. The starter motor grounds through engine block. Battery positive and negative connections are important.

My car sit for a long perior of times and the car

Do you mean that the engine cranks over, but won't start or do you mean it won't crank after setting?
If is a cranking problem, it may be a heavy parasitic drain on the battery caused by something left on. Or it could be from a sulfated battery caused by leaving a battery in a discharged state for a prolonged time. Or the battery could have been destroyed by "case leakage" caused by a dirty battery. Or maybe the charging circuit may be not working because of a bad alternator, loose drive belt or just dirty battery terminals.

Truck sat for 6 weeks battery went dead. Charged

If checking battery cables and wiring to the starter and ground points doesn't help. Have the battery checked for a bad cell. Preferably before you charge it.
