make sure the cruise control cable to the throttle isn't too loose, if it is ok, check your brake switch. if it is sending the signal the brake is on it will not allow cruise to work and will do same thing as described about the set light.

I found the problem. Talking with a technician from the controller company, we determined that it was a fuse problem. I found that the fuse to the CHMSL was blown.

Its exactly the abs module! and its keeping the ecu from communicating with the rest of the car, when you remove the module your tac will come back alive and the oil light will turn off. There is way to trick the ecu to thinking the abs module is working but it involves taking out the module, it is fairly simple.
