The answer usually lies with the voltage regulator on the alternator that limits output when 14.4 v is reached.

SOURCE: battery removal on a 2004 GMC Envoy

The battery is on the right side behind the fuse box. You need a metric set to undo the 3 screws. Theres one that attaches to the body, one to the bar that goes along the top, and theres one on the left side below the vacuum hose and air induction. After you've taken out those three, you should lift the whole thing out(battery and shroud) together. It's hard to take the shroud off before you lift the battery out. After that, you have to pry the shoud off the battery. The two terminals in the back make it hard. Then just go to any auto parts store and they'll give you a new one.

SOURCE: I have a 2004 Gmc Envoy putting out a code of 0128

It means the car has not reached operating temp. The computer wants the engine a certain temp so it can go into "closed loop" where it fine tunes the fuel mix for optimum economy and emissions. If it cannot reach that temp it sets that code. You either have a low coolant level or a stuck open/missing thermostat.

SOURCE: 2004 GMC Envoy with a P0526 sensor problem

This code indicates a problem with the fan clutch, the speed it is running is not the speed it was commanded to run/ The fan clutch assembly needs replacing.

PCM Processor Fault. A couple of things, check the wiring around the PCM, check for frays in the wiring. There is a Technical Service Bulletin for this problem also, where your pcm would need to be re-flashed (computer update) by the dealer, I believe it's around $100 to do this.

You can also try to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or so to reset the computer. Some people have just cleared the code by doing this (or with a code reader) and the code never showed back up again.

Charging voltage is above the accepable limit what that mean?

Voltage regulation is electronic, no way to adjust it. First, clean your battery terminals. Then do a battery test first. High charging voltage can be caused by high resistance at the terminals or inside the battery. A battery test will show whether the battery is good or not.

Mazda cx-5 i-stop not work on at night when i driving with headlight on?

Autostart/stop is dependent on battery voltage above all else. If the system senses battery lower than perfect charge, it disables automatically the prevent battery from draining due to frequent restarts with inadequate charge time (especially in stopand go traffic). When your headlamps are on, you typically have an extra drain of 12-30 amps, and more on some cars with HID headlamps and multibulb driving lamps. The alternator knows these cars will draw so much (over 30 amps) if left on for a 2 or 3 minute stoplight wait, the battery may get drained to below optimal...so the system will frequently refuse to activate when headlamps are on. On cars that are voltage sensing only, or have date coding/mileage coding of the battery (BMW mainly), a new battery will re-enable the night use on such a system. On cars where it is sensing load, you may have to accept that you cant use the system at night.

Fluctuating voltage meter

Alternator maybe charging , but not enough to keep the battery charged which is causing the battery to drop charge. Most likely it's the voltage regulator inside the alternator. but regardless the whole alternator will have to be replaced. This will eventually cause the new battery cells to go bad.

My battery in my 2002 gmc envoy dies over night what would drain the battery alternator is good

Check and make sure nothing is staying on ie. lights. Check the cells on your battery to make sure they are good. It is possible the battery isn't holding a charge.

My 2004 gmc envoy's dashboard lights wont turn off ( abs I Parking ) and the air wont work.

curious as to the battery and alternators state and condition low voltage or poor charging can cause un-explained faults-is the check engine light on?-if so can you get or retreive dtc's as i'd like to know what you pull for codes. fyi most parts stores will retreive codes for free....some even grant access to mitchell on demand or all data to help diagnose probable faults or at least steer you in the right direction.

My rear window motor is stuck on and wont stop making sounds will this drain my battery my vehicle is envoy 2004 xlu v8 the sound stays on even if the vehicle is shut off and im afraid if i leave it on all...

It will drain the battery. Sounds like a bad connection for the motor on the window. If you don't use these windows much it would be better to remove the fuse for them. Or access the motor to disconnect it until the connection can be traced down.

My 2004, GMC Envoy would not start!

loose battery connection, or you left your lights or something else on then you got your jump. on the drive home the battery had a chance to charge enough to start up 10 hours later.
