69 CJ5 NOT STARTING

Yes its very much possible the issue is bad gas,get the fuel tank and fuel pump/ fuel filter cleaned and fill new gas and see if that helps.

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

Try spraying starting fluid into the air intake, with the help of someone else starting the car. As they crank over the car, spray the starting fluid into the air intake. Do this for at least 15 seconds. If the car tries to start up the fuel pump has probably gone bad. When turning the key to the on position do you hear the fuel pump humming? If the pump is not humming the fuel pump is probably bad.

First check all fuses,then check the control moduel(have parts store check for you)Most NAPA parts will check.Then make sure the cam is turning when the engine is turning over.If not the timming chain has broke.Crank sensor or the cam sensor could be bad also,to many things could cause this.I hope this was some help.

if the timing belt is not turning than either your starter is bad and not throughing out the start gear or the flywheel is bad and not recieving the startere gear to turn the motor over. because the timing belt should spin when turning the eng. over...

38 psi is high ??? MMmmm ..regulator... but you need spark check the coil make those plugs arc see them flash ....advance the distributor a lil just a inch ...

Just posting this since no reply from you yet....fuel pump is bad, fuel line/fuel tank has obstruction.....fuel filter plugged.

If it has a spark, fuel, and is turning over but not starting, you have to consider these things....

1. Timing is off
2. Bad Fuel
3. Weak Spark

After ruling these three starting points out, be realistic about repair costs, and consider a different, newer vehicle.
