You have an air lock and the radiator is not full..Have rad cap off and the coolant circulating. Completely fill the radiator while the engine is running then put the cap on tightly. Make certain the fan belt is tight and the thermostat was proper. If it still o er heats you must have a bad radiator.
Either what Steve said or it is upside down or an air bubble is in the line
SOURCE: truck is over heating. changed thermostat. still
CHECK COOLANT FAN CLUTCH.IF FAN FEEL WOBBLY FAN CLUTCH BEARING BAD.IF FAN HAS RESISTANCE WHEN TURN IT WITH HANDS FAN CLUTCH IS GOOD.THE RADIATOR CORES COULD BE STOPPED UP.BAD RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP.FRONT GRILLE IS RESTRICTED WITH DEBRIS CUTTING OFF AIR FLOW.
