SOURCE: We are replacing a head gasket on a 2001 Olds

It is a tight fit, but it can be removed if you remove the 'shelf' above the engine that houses the wiper assemply, and I have seen people lower the engine by unbolting the cradle-put a block of wood between the jack and the engine/transaxle, and unbolt the cradle bolts, lower it so you have enough clearance to pull it out (works on both 3.5 and 4.0 motors, it really helps to have 2 people to do this-also, if you haven't don it yet.scribe the bolts and slots on the hood bolts and remove the hood, make your life much more enjoyable.

I had this problem too. There is a restricting jet hammered into the block to reduce the oil flow to the head and increase the pressure to the main bearings, so the only place the oil pressure is higher than the water pressure is in the block. Apparently this is a known problem with the 3 cyl CB engine. The block is cracked. Greg

How do I change fan switch on 2005 E250 cargo van

Fan switch ? Radiator fans not working ? Your vehicle has a cylinder head temperature sensor . The sensor is a input to the PCM - engine computer , the PCM inturn will energize a relay turnning on the cooling fans when temp gets hot enough . Before replacing a sensor your vehicle may not need i suggest you have it diagnoised .

Can pistons be changed without pulling engine

You don't give make or model , so i am flying blind. If the cylinder head and engine oil pan can be removed, with the motor in place. there is no reason why the pistons can't be removed, if work has to be done on the crank shaft the motor has to be removed.

I have a 2007 Chana Star 1300, it seems that I have blown the Cylinder head gasket do I have to drop the engine to change it?

I would say no -- If the engine is a vertical engine as to oppose to say a flat motor . It will be possible to remove the head while the engine stays in the car. The problem will be in the cam shaft timing so before you do anything bring the no 1 piston to TDC compression and that should make it easier when replacing the head. Best advice ---get a workshop manual or have the job professionally done at an accredited workshop that has experience in your vehicle.

On a 2003 Ford E250 Econoline van with electric door locks...is it possible to disconnect the rear and side cargo doors from being electrically controlled so that only a key can open them? How would I do...

Hi! Yes its possible if manual you want it to be. Try this, If the cargo doors have separate fuse from the fuse box then just remove the fuse and it would work manually. If you wont find the door fuse then you should work on the door manually. Open the cargo door trimming and you will find a motor inside the door. The motor has a connector that leads to the lock. Remove the connector to cut the power supply to the motor and you'll be on manual now. Hope this helps and have a good one!

How to access to replace the spark plugs

on top of your motor you may need to remove any engine covers. there might be a plastic one on the engine that says, 4.6L or what have your...once removed, if euipped, you should see individual coils. they go right through the top of the motor into the head...you will see each coil is bolted to a stud on the engine..remove the nut or bolt, and unplug the coil and remove it from the engine. look inside the well and you see the spark plug..use that appropriate size socket and remove it...its like that for all 8 plugs....now keep in mind that you should not change the order of thses coils because if you have a faulty coil, its easier to pin it on one cylinder then to change positions all the time..you will end up chasing your tail on this...if the coils have no problems, and everything is working fine, then the order in which you choose to install the coils, is of no significance...you can put the number one coil on the number eight cylinder and nothing will happen since its not a spark plug wire and fires that cylinder individually.

How to change fuel pump in 97 chevy 2500 (cargo

You have to drop the fuel tank. It is inside. Hope the tank is near empty, remove the 2 fuel fill hoses, you have two straps, lower tank, remove 3 wire connectors, and several more lines. Please use an ac delco fuel pump module. It may come updated with a new wiring connector to fix the old ones problem. If it does, you have to rewire the van following the directions.
