SOURCE: engine misfiring/fuel coming out exhaust
Sounds like you may need to inspect and replace your fuel line from front to rear. no other reason for your problem.
SOURCE: thick white smoke coming from exhaust
I would think this will be a blown turbo.
These are fed by a small oil pipe and if the unit overheats (due to wear) - this oil fill feed directly into either the inlet manifold - or the outlet - exhaust.
If it is spilling oil into the hot exhaust - you will get a thick white fog. You can confirm this by placing a clear glass bottle or jar in the exhaust stream - and see if it gets a thick coating of oil on it. If it evaporates - it's water, if not - or feels oily - new turbo or overhaul.
Best get is sortd sooner rather than later - as you may be able to save most of it for an overhaul rather than scrap it if badly worn.

SOURCE: '00 VW jetta, ck engine lt on & now exhaust is loud
This sounds more like you have an exhaust leak and it doesn't mean the check engine light has is related to your louder exhaust note. I don't understand how checking the 02 sensor be related to it either unless he meant if it came loose or lost it all together which is rare but not impossible. What I can suggest is have someone with a VAG 1552 scan tool or equivalent like the Ross Tech (PC app) scan your system. If there are faults, a specific DTC will be in stored in memory. Depending on the issue which determines the difficulty and financial investment involved fixing your problem.
SOURCE: Hissing noise coming from the rear of the car. I
probabbly not the brakes, maybe the tires but u need to check that, if u hear that noise with the engine running it might be a burned out gasket on your exhaust line
hope this helps
