I have the same car. Check your battery state if charge. 2nd Re lock the car with the fob . Let the car sit for 10 minutes and re open with the fob and start the car. Either a battery problem or the anti theft was set. Please let me know what happened.

My theft light is on also could this be the problem and is there a way to reset it

  • William Nichols Feb 15, 2019

I'm sure the anti theft is engaged.I think if you back out of the car and lock with the fob it will reset. Just allow 10 or so minutes and then open doors with the fob. Then insert the key and start

  • William Nichols Feb 15, 2019

Use fob to unlock wait at least 10 minutes.try again to lock and unlock with fob. insert key and try again.

The key fob is broke for my car would I be able to pull out the fuse and put it back in to reset it?

  • William Nichols Feb 15, 2019

I dont think pulling a fuse is the thing to do. For the heck of it check in the owners manuel if there is any info on how to get out of the anti thrift issue. 2nd you may be able to Google the question and come up with a reference. I think I might dis connect the battery for 15 minutes and then reconnect. Try starting in park again. Maybe it will reset the computer. Retry things again but always leave a little waiting time for recycling the system. Please keep me posted on your progress.

This might work for most:

Theft Module Re-learn Procedure without a T5O or T6O
During this procedure, the vehicle battery must maintain a minimum of 10.5 volts. If the battery is not fully charged or is weak, a battery charger may be connected.
NOTE The battery charger must NOT be set in 12 volt boost. This will prevent this procedure from working.
1. Cycle the ignition switch to the "Run" position.
2. Wait a minimum of 10 minutes, cycle the ignition switch to the "Off" position.
3. Cycle the ignition switch to the "Run" position.
4. Wait a minimum of 10 minutes, cycle the ignition switch to the "Off" position.
5. Cycle the ignition switch to the "Run" position.
6. Wait a minimum of 10 minutes, cycle the ignition switch to the "Off" position.
7. Verify the repair.

and if not try this:

STARTING DISABLED/DUE TO THEFT SYSTEM/REMOVE IGNITION KEY"
If the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) does not receive the Fuel Enable message it will use the class 2 serial data line (CKT 1807) to tell the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) to display the "STARTING DISABLED/DUE TO THEFT SYSTEM/REMOVE IGNITION KEY" message on the Driver Information Center (DIC) . This will inform the driver of why the engine is not starting. When the ignition is turned "OFF", the IPC will start a timer and display messages to inform the driver to wait for the PASS-Key II timer to run out. The messages will read "WAIT 3 MINUTES", "WAIT 2 MINUTES" (after 1 minutes has passed), "WAIT 1 MINUTE", and "START CAR".
If the timer was not run out, the IPC will not send the Fuel Enable message. When the PCM does not receive the Fuel Enable message, it will command the IPC to re-start the message process.
This message is most likely caused by an improper key resistor value or the IPC did not properly sense the ignition key resistance.
good luck!

Don't do that again! You will need to re-boot the on board computer system by entering a code. Call your nearest Cadillac dealer.

SOURCE: my 2004 cadillac cts says service anti theft

you have a low voltage problem. either a bad battery or a brake in a wire somewhere. My sister had the same problem in her car. Had it to the gm dealer 3 times they couldnt figure it out. I put a new battery in, new wire from batter to starter, and a new altenater and wires to it. just by dumb luck i noticed the (+) wire from the bat to the fuse box under the hood was broke at the fuse box. Put new wire on it and 2.5 years later no problems.

I have an 09 Cadillac CTS w/auto trans. SportMode & DCS stopped working. If I move the shifter to the right, I get nothing. No SportMode message or numbers on the dash. The trans just stays in drive.

Having the vehicle hooked up to a factory or equivalent diagnostic scanner is the first place to start diagnosing a problem like this . Your best bet ,take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

My Cadillac Cts 2006 won't crank and gear shift won't move out of reverse.

It won't crank because it is in reverse. First remove the linkage at the transmission and put it in park or just see if the transmission shifter will move. If it does, then look to the cable or shifter in the console/column. If the transmission shifter doesn't move, It is an internal transmission problem. Most can be repaired by removing the valve body. Via the transmission oil pan. Some the transmission has to be pulled .

There is a rubber bushing that sits inside the shift linkage that wears out over time. It will not damage the trans if you drive it that way. It is just a little noisy and sounds bad when moving the shift lever.

Car won't shift from neutral to park

replacing transmission?????nonsence!!! i can tell this is an automatic trans setup, not standard. lets start here. put car in PARK and turn key on so the dash comes on. do not start car. step on the brake pedal several times slowly and listen for audible sound coming from the shifter area. you should hear clicking sound everytime yo uhit the brake. that is the shift lock solenoid releasing the mechanism indside of the shifter assembly so you can get the car out of park and into gear. you may have an issue with the shifter assembly it self. if no clicking sound is heard, it will need to be diagnosed fruther. the solenoid can not be purhcsed separatelly. shifter assembly only. start with the listening procedure and let me know.
