I have a 2007 Pontiac torrent low beam lights working when I switch to highbeam symbol appears on dash but highbeams are not as bright as low beams it’s like they’re getting less power any ideas check the voltage plug getting 12 V for both high and low. Whatever you like cause this or a bad ground and where would I locate the highbeam ground or the highbeam relay all I see is fuses in the fuse box no relay listed as headlights .

SOURCE: my headlights only work on highbeam.

Yes there is a relay switch that allows the low to high beam switch to occur. It shoud be mounted under the hood along the firewall. Check your manual too!

Thanks,

SOURCE: low beam not working but high beam is-Pontiac Vibe 2005

I have heard it could be the Daylight Running Light module located under the dash above the brake pedal. The module controls both the daytime running lights and the low beam lights. The high beams are independent of this module.

I have the same problem. I am trying to buy a new module.

My left headlight highbeam light works and the lowbeam don't why

the filament on the low beam burnt out. but the high beam didn't. You have a filament for each. 1 for high beam and 1 for low beam in the same light bulb. You need a new head light.

check the headlight wires for power when you have the highbeams switched on, more than likley its gonna be your dimmer switch, its really common in older vehicles

Highbeam problems

I've had this happen to me. It's a bad bulb with a broken filament the makes and brakes. If when you check the bulb and it's ok than look to the plug on the rear of the bulb possibly not making contact. Good luck.

Could be that your high beam light's are burnt out and need to be replaced. When you say the the switch is new you mean the lever on the stearing collum is new right?? Good luck
