SOURCE: 2004 Jeep Liberty shaking when breaking at high speed

Some things you can check. 1 jack up one side at a time. Grasp the tire on each side and try to move the tire, if you can move it you have a bad inner tie rod on that side. You can also grasp the tire at the top and bottom and try to move it that way as well, this will tell you if you have bad ball joints. I suspect a bad inner tie rod here as you have replaced everything else. If you check both front tires and nothing is loose your problem lies in your front brake rotors. Hope this gives you some help and thank you for using FixYa!

Sincerely,

JC

SOURCE: My 03 Wrangler shakes only at 45 mph

My Death Wobble started immediately after I installed a set of Coil Spring Spacers (to lift 1.75 inches). Turned out, the DW was because while changing the height, I also lowered the CASTER angle in the front end. So, to fix it, I could have purchased a set of eccentric bolts for $50+. Instead I went out and purchased a piece of 1.5 inch flat bar for $10 from OSH. I cut out 4 1.5 inch squares. Then i drilled 7/16 inch holes centerline, but close to one side (in exactly the same place) on all for squares. I then removed the lower control arm bolts, nuts and washers. I installed these square offset washers I made so the front axle would be pushed forward (to increase the Caster angle). The toe setting changed a bit, so I reset them to about 1/8 inch toe in. After driving my Jeep, I noticed there is no more DW. The steering wheel was off center, but after 3 attempts, I have that perfectly centered. I have every intension of having the alignment checked, but not till after I find the new tires I want. If anyone is interested, I can draw out and photograph the cure and send it to you. SOURCE: 02 jeep liberty won't shift into 3rd or 4th gear.

Ratio codes generally indicate a pressure loss & slipping which the computer reads as a gear ratio problem. Likely you need a rebuild.

Car shaking under 35 mph

Probably has a bad tire on it. Take it to a local tire shop and have them check the tires for slipped belt or irregular tread wear.

Vibrates terribly over 65 mph

sounds like you have a wheel alignment problem. Not enough castor set. Have the front end checked out for loose worn bits. If you have a steering shocky in the system it is probably shot and not doing the job of stabilising the steering. Remember if the springs are a bit flat IE the front end is a bit low then the whole steering geometery alters and negative castor results as what you have described

Google "***** wobble" common on big Dodge, Ford, Chevy, and things (like Jeep's) with bigger tires and lifts as miles go up. Yours is also likey a bad wheel balance . Have the wheels balanced and watch them spin as they balance them.
