Could be any of a host of problems. I'll list as many as I can think of, off the top, and even include some glaringly obvious ones:
Out of gas.
Dead battery. Does it try to spin over? If it is the battery, have the alternator tested. sometimes, it dies, and takes the battery with it. Others, a battery can die, and kill the alternator at the same time
Fouled spark plugs.
Battery and alternator good, but it doesn't spin? It's the starter.
Clogged or blocked fuel line, especially the filters.
Bad control computer or ignition system; Distributor, points, condenser, or coil.
Basically, any car starting problem boils down to fuel or spark. If the plugs don't spark, they can't ignite the fuel. If fuel isn't getting in, all the spark in the world won't help. Except for the starter. If it won't turn over, neither spark nor fuel help.
SOURCE: finding oil filter on 2007 toyota highlander hybrid
The filter access door is located under vehicle to the right near the front (about 24 inches forward of the oil drain plug). By removing two 10-mm hex nuts, you will see a cap that is removed using a ratchet extension. You will need a pair of Channel Lock pliers that is able to spread to at least 4 inches across to unscrew the filter housing. If it is similar to the 2008 you will need to keep the old housing and just replace the paper filter and "o" rings.
Good Luck

The hybrid battery is charged by the motor generator that is attached to the engine, and also charges during braking. Very sophistocated in how the hybrid battery gets charged.
That being said, you do NOT want to pull the battery out & attempt to charge it. There is no charger available anywhere to charge a hybrid battery. Toyota does not offer one, either. Hooking up a standard battery charger could cause disasterous results (it could explode). And, the possibility of getting shocked with over 300 volts DC is very good. When we have to handle hybrid batteries, we have to wear big, heavy rubber gloves so we do not get injured from the many contact points under the battery shell. This is not something you really want to fool with. The stakes are just too high. Sorry I was not giving you the info you are wanting, but, be safe & leave the battery alone.

Turn vehicle on, with foot on brake put vehicle in NEUTRAL. Still holding brakes move 4x4 switch to 4 wheel drive, it should engage. The ECT snow is just s feather that make the transmission take off in 2nd gear so its not a fast take off and you wouldn't skid. Good Luck

SOURCE: Upgrade toyota navigation DVD.
Hi,
DVD unit is under the passenger seat. Just buy the new maps DVD from the dealer, eject the old disk (button on the left, covered with slider) and put the new disk in. It takes 10 minutes.
