I have a 2003 Mazda 6. A few lights aren't working: my third break light, the license plate lights, and the front outer marker lights. I changed the bulb in the third break light, didn't work.

I checked the fuses and all seem to well. I am wondering if these three lights are connected. My front lights are fine, the turn signal lights are fine, and my regular break lights are all fine. It is just these three and I doubt all three areas are out at the same time because the bulbs are bad, which for at least one I checked that this was not the case. I appreciate any help and leads you can provide me.

SOURCE: brake lights/rear turn signals

I had the same problem with my 1999 Yukon. The electric board needed to be replaced. Rust starts to build up and shorts out or blows the bulb. The dealership charged $73.60 for the part and I installed it myself (Saved $30).

SOURCE: license's plate light stopped working even with new bulb.

It wouldn't be a fuse if that's the only light that's not working, I believe all of the parking lights are on the same fuse. It's most likely a bad ground or corrosion inside the socket where the bulb makes the electrical connection. So check the socket to make sure it has no corrosion, if it does, clean it up and apply some dielectric grease (available at any parts store) to prevent future corrosion, and check for a loose or broken ground wire.

SOURCE: license plate bulb needs replacing

Remove license plate. Unscrew the screws on the underside of the bumper. Slide the lights back toward the trunk and then down through the opening. Unscrew bulb and replace with a new one.

Reverse steps to reinstall the lights.

SOURCE: 2001 GMC Jimmy break lights not working but all

Check the brake light switch should be a orange wire with 12v then a white wire with 12v when the pedal is pressed. If htat cks good then ck the hazard switch by moving it up and down and wiggeling the knob with the brake pedal pressed if they start working then your multifunction switch is bad and needs to be replaced.

3rd break light and license plate lamps are out on 2005 ford freestar

Check all wires at sockets for breakage and check the brake lights for normal functionality and all the bulbs the third brake light bulbs are probably blown out as well as the license plate bulbs and the interior light may be loose in its fitting if after checking and making sure the bulb is tight the dimmer switch is worn for the interior light and should be replaced

Why doesn't I/P illumination work?

You could have a couple of possible problems Meghan so lets start with the easiest to check. Turn your headlight switch on to the first click and look to see if you have exterior front and rear marker and license plate lights working. If these lights are not on then you probably have a 15 amp TAIL fuse that has blown and needs replaced in the underhood fuse box. If the outside lights are working normally but you still have no I/P lights then you probably have a fault in the panel light dimmer switch.

Mazda 6 sport sedan break lights not working after hid light conversion

Instructions Open the rear deck lid on the Mazda 6.Carefully remove the plastic finishing cover from the license plate light housing, using a small flat-head screwdriver to release the locking tabs. Pull the cover downward and off of the deck lid, exposing the license plate bulb.
Remove the old light bulb from the license plate bulb socket by hand. Wrap your new one in a paper towel and do not touch the bulb with your bare fingers. Insert the new bulb into the light socket. Install the finishing cover onto the light housing and push it upward until it clicks and locks into place.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to complete the LED light conversion on the opposite side of the deck lid. Test the new bulbs by turning on the headlights on the Mazda 6.

  • Turn the engine off and approach the side of the porsch with the burn-out side-marker light. If you are replacing both, start at either side; the replacement procedure is the same.
  • 2 Remove the screws from the plastic fender liner. Peel back the liner to access the area behind the fender.
  • 3 Reach your hand inside to gain access to the side-marker light's backing. Push the backing forward to release the side-marker lens; it's held in place by small clips.
  • 4 Grab the lens on the outer side and turn it over to access the back. Gently turn the bulb to release it from the plastic lens.
  • 5 Pull the bulb straight out to remove it from the electrical socket. Insert a new bulb, but do not touch the glass part of the bulb with your hand.
  • 6 Push the new bulb into the side-marker lens. Turn it clockwise to install it. Push the side-marker lens back into place. Apply gentle pressure to the lens to pop it back into its mount.
  • 7 Replace the screws along the edge of the fender liner.

License plate lights do not work after replacing both of them

They are on the same electrical circuit as your marker lights. You could have a bad ground at the license plate area.
